Five Things In December

Oh 2016, it seems you are leaving as quickly as you arrived. You have been a tough one, you have tested my patience and pushed it to the limit. Ahh, the ups and downs. Did you all achieve what you set out to? Let's be real, did you set any goals at all? Whatever it is, hopefully we all have good memories and accomplishments to take with us into the new year.

But before anything, let's see what's up in December.

five things in december

The rental and bills are driving me nuts
The cost of  living in the city is just crazy. Crazy. I'm just a student and I'm unemployed. Recently, we just lost two house members and that means everyone has to pay more rental and bills than the usual to cover the payments of the two fellas. By all means, I have to cut off my beauty shopping expenses for the better. #AlwaysBrokeAnyway

Too many semester projects, too little time
I want the time to slow down so I can fit everything in it. No excuses though, but I haven't made time to blog lately. The semester projects are killing me. The last three weeks have been packed! I just started a new semester but it feels like a final week or something. Heck lot of presentation, project and submission. That's what has been keeping me busy these past few weeks. This is only the beginning girl, there's more to come and I should stop whining.

Taman Botani Negara
Ahh, roommates bonding time! We will have at least a day to discover places and just hangout. So this time, it's the Taman Botani Negara.

To be honest, we didn't discover the whole place though. We got so tired walking and waiting for the bus. They also provided cycling facilities that cost MYR10 for an hour but we're just not feeling it. #Cheapskate

Christmas movie marathon!
A week is about enough to have a movie marathon. I'm currently on Christmas break so why not? I just love the idea of snuggling with my plushie under the blanket while watching my all time fav Christmas movies and every once in a while listening to the sound of the pouring rain. Ahh, who doesn't love that!? Oh! And my all time favorite Christmas films definitely Home Alone, The Holiday, Love Actually and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. What is your favorite Christmas film?

I didn't make New Year's resolutions
I haven't made a New Year's resolution yet. Actually, I didn't plan on making one just because I feel like it's useless. I have set out so many goals for the past.. I don't know, 3 years? And I didn't achieve any of them. I feel like it's almost impossible for me to achieve if I make one. I see plenty of bloggers resolving this and that and that's a good thing. But I don't know, I don't need New Year's resolution to spur me this time. If I want it, then I want it and I'm going to achieve it. There's nothing I need to resolve to do, nothing dramatic or requiring a resolution to push me forward. That's that.
All in all, I hope you had a splendid December and meaningful 2016. May 2017 brings you many joy and happiness! 💖

For When I Have 30 Minutes To Get Ready

30 minutes... Maybe not that bad to some of you, you can still rock that ankle boots, wing that eyeliner etc. But not for your homegirl. It is a disaster. I need at least an hour and a half. I love to take my time. I hate the idea of rushing, hurrying - just no. It can be stressful as heck and tiring in the early hours of my day! So in today's post, I will be sharing what I usually do when I only have stressful 30 minutes to get ready and how I still show up looking well-fed.

for when i have 30 minutes to get ready

5 minutes shower or less

The key here is to multitasking. You gotta do what you gotta do honey. I usually will brush my teeth and pee at the same time. Now, I have tons of shower gel in my bathroom I do not even know why. My go-to shower cream is the Lux Magical Spell because the smell is to die for, plus it lasts the whole day!

Choose the simplest and fuss-free outfit

By simple and fuss-free I mean I cut the fuss to iron my outfit. Ain't nobody got time for that. A dress, jumpsuit or basically one-piece outfit will do the job. That's that. While I am in the shower, I will hang my outfit as well as my anti-wrinkle hijab and no one will know I got up a half hour ago. #NoShame

"Go for the simple and easy but gives impact makeup look"

I go by this mantra when I am in a hurry. It is better for me to keep it simple or else I will be running late. Even though I only have 30 minutes to get ready, I honestly feel naked if I do not at least have a little lipstick and perhaps perky eyelashes. So my logic is that I cut off products that are less important such as primer, foundation and eyeliner.

My first picks when I am running late are the CC Cream, loose compact powder, blusher, mascara, and MAC's Velvet Teddy.

Simple. Easy. But high impact? Girl, you gotta play with the mascara. That is the impact. It really changes the whole look! Don't trust me? Go give your eyelashes some coats of mascara now. My secret is to apply several coats of mascara. By several I mean profusely. One thing that concerns me is that the mascara I am using is flippin' hard to remove! Other than that, I love it. It holds the curl, does not budge and smudge.

Eat on the go

Oh, homegirl gotta have something to munch on or else she gets grumpy lol. I make it crucial to have something to eat because I know I am going to have a long day, everyday. My favs are totally oatmeal cookies or an apple!

There we have it! Just a few things I do to help me get ready in a rush and still look and feel great. Regardless, there is a small element of planning shall involved - it's better to think ahead the night before to make sure you have picked the right outfit and not forgetting important things like keys and phone.

What do you do when you only have 30 minutes to get ready? Is 30 minutes really enough?

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

maybelline instant age rewind concealer

Hi everyone! You know what it is, it's review time. And today I'm reviewing the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Concealer. As far as I know, this is a treatment concealer and have been insanely raved about, be it in the blogging world or Youtube world. Now, this concealer may have been reviewed and swatched countless times but whatever, I'm going to review it anyway.

maybelline instant age rewind concealer

It retails for MYR32. It may be cheaper or more expensive depending on which drugstore you get them at. Honestly speaking, it's actually very high up there for a drugstore concealer but it's definitely worth the hype. I'd say, try to get it during sales so it'll be more worth it!

Where to get

Guardian, Watsons, Aeon Wellness

Shade range

There are 6 shades, I believe. But in Malaysia, that's not the case. There are only 2 shades available here, light and medium. I got mine in 'Medium' because it suits with my medium tanned skin. If you are on the fairer side, you might want to try the light shade. I hope they will expand the shade range because I want to try the other shades too, especially the neutralizer!

Safe to say that it's perfect for the under eye area as it's lightweight yet covers up my worst dark circles. I use the Garnier Brightening Eye Roll On before applying it and it glides on so smooth! But bear in mind, it's a lightweight concealer but it's not that creamy so it sets really fast and you need to blend real quick.

maybelline instant age rewind concealer

It has a round sponge tip and you simply need to turn and click the head of the applicator to set the product out. 4-5 clicks to the left is about enough product to cover around the eyes. I actually really like it. It's not like a typical concealer packaging that has a doe-foot applicator. I like the sponge applicator even though you may not agree with me. Some people seem to hate the sponge tip just because it seems unhygienic. I honestly don't mind it, you can just use your concealer brush, right? It's there for a reason.

maybelline instant age rewind concealer

Medium to high coverage, I suppose. It really cover up my dark circles very well. It also great for highlighting! I usually do the "triangle" under the eyes, highlight on the bridge of  my nose, in between my brows and my chin.

Staying power

It lasted the whole day! No patchiness, not drying under the eyes, doesn't crumble and all of that good stuff. However, it settled quite a bit into my fine lines. Just a little but it bothers me so much.

What I like about this concealer

  • Extremely lightweight
  • Perfect for everyday use
  • Cover my dark circles so well
  • Matte
  • Lasts all day long
  • Blends well
  • Doesn't oxides
  • Medium to high coverage
  • The sponge applicator is perfect for my under eye
  • Looks natural
  • Doesn't break me out

What I don't like about this concealer

  • Settle in my fine lines after 7-ish hours
  • Poor shade range
  • Always out of stock

I have used the product for 4 months now and apart from the issues that I pointed out, I'm pretty happy with it still. At first, it was impossible to talk negative about this concealer but as time goes, it's slowly telling me that it does have drawbacks. All in all, I love it. Sometimes I like to rotate between this and my trustee 'ol Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer. Both works well for me. Would I recommend this concealer? Heck yes.

PS: Please pray for my skin

Too Much Information Tag | I Missed My Flight?

too much information tag

This tag has been so famous lately and everyone was answering and I can't help but to relate. Everyone was posting and I realized I haven't done it just because 50 questions? Oh boy, I ain't Beyonce to begin with lol. But tag questions are fun to do as it's very relax and I always enjoy my time answering them. So without any further ado, let's make a room filled with fun! Here's my take on this ever-famous TMI tag.

Q1. What are you wearing?
I'm wearing a short pants from H&M and a sleeveless top from Nichii.

Q2. Ever been in love?
Of course! As a matter of fact, I was and still am.

Q3. Ever had a terrible breakup?
I did, actually. I hate breakups. Especially on the phone. So unprofessional.

Q4. How tall are you?
5'3, 161cm precisely. I love my height. It's actually an ideal height for me. Not too tall, not too short. Just right.

Q5. How much do you weigh?
As of now, it's between 48 to 49 kilos. I have been 40 kilos, 55 kilos but whatevs. It's just a number.

Q6. Any tatoos?
Nah fam. It's haram. But if it's legal in Islam though, it would be an infinity sign either on my wrist or my ring finger.

Q7. Any piercings?
Nope, I have never pierced my body because I'm bloody scared.

Q8. OTP?
I honestly don't have any.

Q9. Favorite show?
KUWTK, Two Broke Girls and Running Man.

Q10.Favorite bands?
Westlife, Maroon 5, BSB, Paramore.

Q11. Something you miss?
I miss being on a vacation. I miss being in a some kind of family dinner and play awesome games. We hardly ever have these type of dinners anymore. Ahh I miss it so much!

Q12. Favorite song?
I have an amount of songs that I love and I can't just pick one and that's it. No. I'm a huge music lover but if I had to choose only one, it is "All We Know" by The Chainsmoker ft. Pheobe Ryan. Yea, at the moment.

Q13. How old are you?
I'm 20 ✨

Q14. Zodiac sign?

Q15. Quality you look for in a partner?
Loyalty, intelligence, sense of humor. Yknow what, it could be more than that but you know the list can go on and on. We just need to 'click' well, be able to have fun but also able to understand each other.

Q16. What is your favorite quote?
"I'd rather be hated for who I am rather than be loved from who I am not"

Q17. Favorite actor?
DiCaprio and Johnny Depp.

Q18. Favorite color?
Anything pastel.

Q19. Loud music or soft?
It depends on the circumstances.

To my room. It's the perfect haven. Probably with a cup of tea, a blanket with my diary open, waiting for my thoughts to be constructed into words of vain.

Q21. How long it take for you to shower?
It depends. Anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. There's nothing in between.

Q22. How long does it take for you to get ready in the morning?
30 minutes up to an hour and a half.

Q23. Have you ever been in a physical fight?
Yes, when I was a lot younger. There was this girl obsessed with winning and filled with envy and can't seem to accept the fact when I made it to the top 10 rank in my school.

Q24. Turn on?
Smelling good, confident, intelligence and funny too.

Q25. Turn off?
Smoking and rude.

Q26. The reason I joined Blogger?
I guess I just liked the idea of having one. Haha. I just wanted to share my thoughts rather than just having them in some sort of secret diary.

Q27. Fears?
Irrational fears included? Hmm I'm afraid of glass, heights and cockroach. The other way around would be failures, losing someone I really love and to be a huge disappointment to someone who really love me.

Q28. Last thing that made you cry?
The day when I missed my flight. Technically speaking, I didn't missed my flight. I just forgot to check in earlier. I was never late! I don't know what's gotten into me. I had to pay MYR600+ for penalty and I was crying like hell in my flight to Shah Alam. I have caused so much trouble already and here's another one. I felt bad, I felt useless. So long story short, here I am now in Shah Alam. And I can't wait to be home again.

Q29. Last time you said you love someone?
This morning, to my lovely mom. I say "I love you" like everyday to my mom so that she knows wherever I am, I will always love her.

Q45. Last sport you play?
Badminton and it was like.. 6 months ago haha.

Q46. Last song you sang?
"I didn't know that I was starving till I tasted you" I get all giddy when I hear this song. It's really catchy! It's by Hailee Steinfeld btw. You go girl! Who's obsessed with this song? I mean, it's really catchy omg I can't.

Q47. Favorite pick up line?
This is something that my s/o and I love to do but he's the one who loves it more because I do lame pick up lines and sometimes it didn't work so. My favorite one from him is probably this:

"You know that Leicester menang English Premier League? Tu team underdog yknow. But sekuat mana pun dorang sampai menang still tak boleh kalahkan you yang menang hati i."

HAHAHA it's just how we mesh. I'm not good at it though, but I have said more less like this when he asked me where have I been because I didn't text him the whole day:

"I'm here now, where am I supposed to be kalau bukan beside you kan?"

Q48. Have you ever used it?
Of course! Not only with my s/o but to my girls as well. We do lame jokes, lame pick up lines, lame everything because we're pretty lame lol. Nah, that's just how we communicate.

Q49. Last time you hung out with anyone?
I didn't remember the exact date or day or time because I'm such a dummy with dates, numbers etc. But it was with my girls, we went to Aeon Mall just so I can eat my steamed bread with sangkaya at Boat Noodle.

Q50. Who should answer these questions next?
Anyone who haven't done this tag, probably?

Thank you so much for reading! Phew, 50 questions ain't that easy to answer as it took me about 3 hours to complete it. If you reached till the end, kudos to you.

My Take On Liquid Lipstick

My fellow sisters, if you don't know about liquid lipstick, where have you been? IT'S E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E NOW. Every company, every brand has came out with their own version of liquid lipstick. You know the ones that doesn't budge, has a great formula, lasts the whole day and has soooo many intriguing colors to choose from. It's fun! And I love fun. With that being said, there are few things I usually do when it comes to wearing liquid lipstick. I'm no expert but these are all based on my past experiences and lots of reading. After all, my love for lip products is really huge and here's my take on liquid lipstick.

By little goes a long way I mean, you don't need much (really) because liquid lipstick is very pigmented - one or two stroke is enough. I usually will clean off the wand first on the inside of the tube before I put it on. Just because that way, I will have more control and it goes smoothly on my lips and not flaking! Besides, I will save more products and I can use it for quite a longer time than I thought.

You can't simply put it on in 5 seconds. When applying liquid lipstick, you absolutely need patience. A lot of it. Here's what I usually do, I will take my smaller mirror, take a deep breath and apply it slowly and smoothly. Just take your time! No need to rush the job, you will end up with a globby finish and most likely streaky and get it all over the teeth. Now that's not cute.

Some liquid lipstick formula can be so drying, you just have to accept the fact that they are not created equally. Some are hydrating,  some are not. Some protrudes the fine lines on my lips, some are not. Regardless,  I love them. Lip balm has always got my back! So I just run some lip balm on top of the liquid lipstick if my lips are feeling super dry and tight. My favorite lip balm is gotta be the ones from Lip Ice!

Why I said so? In my opinion, liquid lipstick doesn't look good with a naked face. Yknow what I mean? You have to pair it with at least a simple eye makeup look and winged liner. That's what I usually do. It really balances out the whole look with the matte statement on my lips.

When it comes to liquid lipstick application, a smooth, luscious and flake-free lips is what you need. You sure don't want to apply a liquid lipstick on top of a very dry and chapped lips, no? Now, just grab whatever lip scrub or lip exfoliator you have and gently scrub your lips, let's say at least 15 minutes before applying liquid lipstick. My all time favorite lip scrub is gotta be my homemade lip scrub! It's so easy to do, all you need is brown sugar and a little bit of raw honey. Au-naturale. It works wonders! My lips feels so smooth and it makes it easier for me to apply the liquid lipstick.

There you have it. That's my take in liquid lipstick and please bear in mind, I'm not an expert, I just love to share what works best for me and might as well works best for you too.

Do you wear liquid lipstick? What is your favorite liquid lipstick? And do you have your own trick that works best for you?

Five Things In November

five things in november

Hi everyone. How are you? Is everybody enjoying their November? I know I kind of do (kind of jelah) because it's my favorite month. By the way, I'm starting this series where I will wrap everything up that happened to me in that particular month. So here are my five things in November!

Being 20.....
I just turned 20 on 23rd of November. Whatever it is, I'm not feeling it. It wasn't a big deal apart from the "two or three more years before I get married" lol. Anyway, I had a blast but there wasn't a cake but who says pizza can't be your cake? Pizza is definitely the new freaking cake!

Dean's list was the best birthday gift ever!
As I thought I couldn't make it, oh gurrrl I'm so wrong. All thanks to The Almighty. This was definitely the best birthday gift I have ever received. Besides, I really want to 'give back' to my parents because they have done so many things for me. I know there's no way I can repay them but hopefully this will beat that.

Always up for a karaoke.
If you don't already know, I will never say no to karaoke. So over the weekend our family went to visit my uncle because he wasn't feeling well. There was just something about his health condition but he will be okay eventually. Apart from that, me and my sisters had a legit 5 hours karaoke session in my uncle's house. He has all the equipment you need when it comes to karaoke because he loves to karaoke as well! My first picks gotta be from Westlife, BSB, M2M, basically 90's to 00's hits. What are your first picks?
I didn't shop makeup.
Yup, it was a huge achievement. Don't argue with me. It was so hard to hold yourself back and not to pick any makeup items in most stores you went. Let's just say, I love the idea of being at home, with all the foods and excellent wifi connection. Yes 👍 But I had a little 'escape' which I already mentioned in my previous post.

Shah Alam, all over again.
I wasn't prepare at all. Mentally and physically. I have come to the point where I hate Shah Alam. I want to be home. I don't want to be where I am now. Blergh, this won't make me homed anyway. I just started my new semester and all I can say is that this semester is not going to be 'my semester' yknow what I mean? I have a strong feeling. Ugh, just pray for your homegirl.
I hope everyone had a blast November 💖

I have been blogging for so many years and I have never shared a Get To Know Me post up on my blog. I'm a sad self-proclaimed blogger lol. Anyway, I figured most of those reading, commenting and following you guys already know a thing or two about yours truly. But I thought it would be fun to do as you can get to know me more. So, here's a little about me.

#1. My full name is Nur Amalina Zulkiflly. I bet a lot of you don't know about it because you may not find it anywhere in this blog. I used to have a lot of nicknames when I was younger, I remember my friends called me Amel, Amy, Lin and the latest one is Lenne. It was actually Len but I add another "ne" to make it look fancy.

#2. I was born and raised in Sabah and I'm currently studying and living in Shah Alam. So if you are near Shah Alam, let's hangout!

#3. I still don't have a driver's licence up until now but I have tried driving with my dad as my coach and I can't both regular/ parallel park.

#4. I have 0 piercings. I have never pierced my body because I'm so scared. And I will never ever do it.

#5. I have been wearing contact lenses since I was 14 just because I don't look good wearing glasses. I refuse to go to optics and get me some glasses because it will never look good on me.

#6. I have never played sports until I was in college because I hate it. I don't like to get sweaty, hot and I don't like people watching me play. It irritates me. I have never joined any sports back in my school days. If I ever did joined, I will never show up and play. So my first sport when I'm in college was badminton. To be honest, I didn't participate that much and I showed up for the sake of attendance.

#7. I love public speaking but get me in a room with 20 people in it and I will faint. #idontunderstandmyselfeither

#8. I have G6PD. I have been coping with it since birth. It's like an allergy and I can't eat seafood, nuts and eggs.

#9. My biggest aspiration is to be a teacher or an educator. I want to be like my mom. But as time goes, I found that I have 0 skills in teaching people or educate them. I'm the worst at it. #11. I don't like going out, I'm a lazy ass when it comes to get ready and I get ready for hours. I enjoy sitting at home watching my all time favorite movies.

#12. In my family, I'm the one who has a huge love for makeup. I don't know, maybe because I spent most of my time at home watching makeup tutorials on Youtube. Now not that my mom doesn't wear makeup, she does and she will always go to my room to wear my lipsticks and play with the makeups.

#13. I have always wanted to go to Istanbul and Paris since I was younger.

#14. I have never eaten any kind of squid in my life.

#15. I have tried to smoke once when I was in high school at the back building during recess. It tastes obnoxious and I was coughing real bad.

#16. I used to play the piano when I was a kid. It all started when my cousin sister leaves her keyboard piano at our house. I'm addicted ever since. #17. I'm obsessed with cats. I love them so much! I can spend days at the cat cafes and make new friends there. The reason why I love cats so much because I used to treat them badly, especially the baby ones. I will pull their tails, I will roll them in the sand etc. I don't want to talk about it anymore. So I had a bad past with cats, this is how I "apologize" to them. I will treat them nicely, no discrimination towards them I love them equally 💕

I hope you enjoyed a peek into me. I would love to know you guys better as well! Till then xx

7 Deadly Sin of Beauty

Okay, another tag, another fun! I have seen this tag a few times lately and it seemed fun to do. Besides, I have been tagged by the awesome Erin. Check her 7 Deadly Sin of Beauty here. I love reading all the answers because I can relate to some of them. So, this is my 7 Deadly Sin of Beauty.

Hands down, my MYR6 Essence Lip Liner in 06 Satin Mauve. I know what you are thinking! MYR6?! That's insanely inexpensive. The second I saw this lip liner on the rack I know I must get it or else I will go home with regret. So creamy, smudge proof (slightly not) and super long lasting! This lip liner go together with my MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick

I don't know if this is included as a beauty item but this one right here is very flipping expensive and it is the freaking MYR169 Spa of The World Dead Sea Salt Scrub from The Body Shop. It was all the salesperson's fault lol he made me buy it. He was so convincing! I can't. He was doing all the demos and whatnot, and I said "Imma buy it!" Darn it. But the scrub does its magic though, it gives me the moisture I need because my skin is a bit on the drier side now, it hydrates my skin and leaves a very smooth and healthier skin. I love touching my skin after using it! To be honest, I don't even use it that much 😕

I have a love/hate relationship with the MYR21 Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Cream in 02 Glamour. My problem with this matte lip cream is the color. I don't know why sometimes I can pull this color and sometimes I failed miserably and will choose another lip color. There are days where it blends well and I'm loving it but I'm starting to hate it when it is streaky and dries up my lips like crazy and protrudes the lines on my lips and above all the color is too light for my skin tone! I have to apply it carefully and not overdo it or else I will hate it.

The hardest item for me to get is the MYR32 Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. I still haven't gotten to write a review about this concealer. I'm too lazy to take photos so please bear with me. This product available in Malaysia not long ago, I believe this year's June/ July. Correct me if I'm wrong. See, they don't even have wide range of shade selection and have always been sold out. I don't know where to get a backup.

As in, tasty? Geez, I have never eaten beauty products before lol but for the sake of this question I'm gonna go with my MYR30 NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. It smells like vanilla frosting ahhh I can smell it for the rest of my life!

Primer is one thing I have never really bothered with. I have been skipping primer for months now because I'm so lazy to put a lot of products on my face. I'm always on a rush so using minimal products is the key.

A good foundation/ concealer to even out my skin tone is definitely the one. I have so much to conceal, I have so much skin insecurities and if a good foundation/ concealer can cover it up pretty well, I say why not? It helps me feel extra confident with myself. My skin has been acting up these few months omg- I don't wanna talk about it.

This has nothing to do with beauty products lol but I will answer it anyway! The ones I immediately notice are eyebrows, eyes and eyelashes!! My s/o's eyebrows be hella on point without all the tools and products. Ugh, lucky much?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation, Natasha Denona Eye Palettes, Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, Colourpop Liquid Lipstick, Kylie Kyshadow, Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, Too Faced Sweethearts Bronzer...... basically just the whole damn Sephora. (I know it's impossible)

So there are my 7 Deadly Sin of Beauty, I had so much fun as I'm playing 90's and 00's hits on Youtube. I'm listening to BSB, Shape of My Heart!! 💗 Okay, let me know what you guys think and you are welcome to do this tag. You know I love to read them!

Things I Do When I Don't Have The Mood To Write A New Post

Things I Do When I Don't Have The Mood To Write A New Post | Lenne Zulkiflly

There are days where I feel so sluggish and not in the mood to write. Let's be honest, you don't always want to write, no? Especially when you are a full time college student or you are a full time working mommy or whatever it is, trust me, you will have 'that' day. I tried to write but I feel like everything I managed to jot down is terrible. However, there are things I do when the mood to write is just not there.

Update old photos

I love to update photos in my previous blog posts just because it shows how far I have come to the journey, especially with my photography skill. Now, I'm still getting the hang of it, I know they are not the best however I'm doing it. Practice makes perfect, right? I just edit a little something here and there or I will change the filter of the old photos or better yet take a new one.

Update my previous posts

I do this all the time where I will check back my previous posts and spot typo errors, broken links or anything that seemed wrong. I made a little changes in my How Did I Begin Blogging post. I changed the photo and a tad bit of the content as well. I like to do this because I'm not the same person I was 2 minutes ago.

Things I Do When I Don't Have The Mood To Write A New Post | Lenne ZulkifllyBefore I edit the photo (the one in the outlined pink box)

Things I Do When I Don't Have The Mood To Write A New Post | Lenne ZulkifllyAfter I edit the photo

Planning ahead

I usually write a post outline about whatever comes into my mind. It's just an outline, I don't even have a suitable title for it as I can edit them later on. It's okay, nobody is going to see it. Honestly, it may be gibberish and horrible-looking but from there I will find a precious idea to create a full post. That way, I don't suck the fun out of writing. I love writing, and I don't want to hate doing something I love.

Re-read my 'glory' posts

Whenever I don't feel like writing, I choose to read. I read just about anything and one thing I like to do is re-read the posts I have written a while back. I will go back and read them one by one and I will get motivated by them! And I will re-read the comments as well 😉 It's not a major thing, I called it glory just because I'm still getting views from it up until now. Thank you so much!

Bloglovin' ftw

I save the best for last 👐 Bloglovin' has way better dashboard than Blogger, hands down. I'm so sorry Blogger but you have to step up your dashboard game. Thanks for introducing me to Bloglovin', Erin. My life has changed ever since! I am dramatic liddat. Anyway, Bloglovin' is like a playground to me where I make sure to goof around and enjoy my time spend hours and hours reading awesome blog posts and I'm moved by them. How can I not?

What do you do when the mood to write is just not there?
P/s: I just turned 20 and I am spending my birthday in front of my laptop working on my drafts lol

Would You Rather: Beauty Edition Tag

You can already tell that tags are some of my favorite posts to do. I don't know about you, but it's flipping fun to write y'know they are hassle-free, you don't have to set up your cameras and the whole enchilada. I saw this tag up on The Glam Surge and I thought why not another tag? Now, I have watched quite a few real Would You Rather tag by my favorite youtubers and it was legit hilarious. Here's one of my favs! You know what's better than that? There was a beauty version; I'm up for this!

Q1. Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eyeliner, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all your palettes and eyeshadows?
I would be fine without all my palettes and eyeshadows. I don't mind them all because basically, I can't live without my mascaras, eyeliners and lipsticks!

Q2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I'm so used with long hair, I can't imagine how I would handle having no hair. BUT. Can you imagine the fuss of having bloody long hair, I mean if I did get my hair all chopped I can cover it with shawl/ hijab. Am I right? At least I don't have to worry about my baby-hair peeking through. And it will always grow back. Right?☺

Q3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I would go with pink cheeks because I'm used to pink blushes. I have never tried wearing coral blushes so I don't know how it would end up looking on my cheeks. So, pink it is!

Q4. If you had a 1000 dollars to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Such a hard question! Hmm, I feel like I'm going to spend it for clothes because I'm wanting a bit of a wardrobe revamp at the moment. I'm okay with just the average makeup collection y'know. But let's be real here, it would be so hard for me to not pick up a few makeup items!

Q5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Well, another hard one. I would go for eyeliner as lipstick. Imagine how messy it will get if my cat eye liner is actually a lipstick?

Q6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Hmm, I love MAC but if I had to choose either one, it would be Sephora just because Sephora has a large range of products from various brands selection.

Q7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
Definitely only use one eyeshadow color. I cannot use only one lip color though, you know me (or probably you aren't). My love for lipstick is very huge and I would be miserable without them. I'm fine with only one eyeshadow color because I have been doing it for years haha.

Q8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Well, Malaysia has no season but for the sake of this question, I don't think I could live doing any of those lol so neither.

Q9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
I would rather have dark nails just because in my opinion, dark nails are more wearable and work with most outfits. I don't really enjoy the look of bright/ neon nails that I have watched in youtube 😑

Q10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
I would give up my favorite eye product. No surprise haha it's Lenne we're talking about. I don't wear them everyday though so it wouldn't faze me. I love my favorite lip product too much, so they are not going anywhere!

Q11. Would you rather only able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
If this messy bun looked like all the photos on Pinterest then yes please ✋ If not, Imma wear my usual ponytail because I rock them everyday.

Q12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
I would rather never wear lip gloss again. As much as I love my lip products, lip gloss is somehow my least favorite in beauty products because that thing is sticky as hell. I much rather have pretty nails 💅

Q13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in every day?
OMG. I don't want to do either of these! Eyebrows is very important to me, they frame my face. If I had to choose though - I guess I would sharpie them everyday. I just have to take an attempt to make a brown sharpie work? Right? I mean, don't overdo them just like how I would do my brows everyday using proper tools and products. I can't imagine me having no eyebrows. Be the next monalisa is totally not in my wishlist.

Q14. Would you rather live without make up or nail polish?
Easy-peasy, nail polish it is. I'm 100% fine without nail polish because I rarely wear them.

I hope you enjoy! I tag whoever wishes to do this or hasn't done it yet. I would love to read them. Oh and I'm sorry for being MIA for quite a week. Had a little 'escape' to places I have never been and did the things I have never done in my life and it was legit fun. Till then 💖

What's In My Bag? [2016]

What's In My Bag | Lenne Zulkiflly

I haven't done a What's In My Bag post for a while, the last time I did this was back in October 2015 and I thought it was about time I do another one. In today's post, the bag I'm going to show you is like my 'going-out-bag' y'know what I mean? I have tons of bags and I like to switch it every once in a while but this is the bag that I recently use whenever I go out because it suits with every outfits. And it is also my baby. If you don't already know I love to read/ watch other people's What's In My Bag post/ videos. It is fun and y'know the fun little things we carry with us all freaking time. I love it!

So, this is the bag that I'm currently using (all the time) when I go out. This is the Melody Backpack that I got from Cotton On, back then it was quite expensive for a small bag like this. I mean, it is almost 80 ringgit but the fact that it has an amazing quality, I'm all okay. It seems small but it is actually quite spacious for me. I'm trying to not carry a larger bag when I go out because I tend to bring unnecessary stuff with me and it will be heavy as hell and I might lose my arm and that's not cute. Anyway, I like the shape of this bag, the simplicity and it doesn't slouch.

First things first, the bigger compartment. What I have inside is my purse, my makeup kit, my medicine (for my allergy) and my apartment keys. By the way, it is such a pain in the ass to stuff my makeup kit inside this 'giant' baby because let's be real, I carry quite a lot of makeup there. Sometimes, if I don't want to deal with the fuss I just bring the essentials like an eye drop, my MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick, and a compact powder. That's it.

Moving on to the front/ smaller compartment. I have my Miracle Essence perfume, blotting paper (of course), my boarding pass lol, my IC/ ID card and coins. The reason why I didn't place my IC inside my purse just because to make things easier for immigration purposes. Oh, I place my phone in this pocket as well. A perfect fit for my phone!

That's that. I honestly love this kind of posts, I told you once now I told you twice. Anyway, here's the link to my previous What's In My Bag if you haven't read about it. If you have done this, please do leave me a link below!

What do you typically carry in your bag?

40 Beauty Questions Tag

I'm pretty bored right now and it's been a while since I do tags like this. I was doing my usual blogwalking and I wanted to read something so I came across Erin's blog and I saw this 40 Beauty Questions Tag! I guess why not? You can read hers here okay, make sure to read it and just basically read everything in her blog. She has so many interesting things to read about. Without any further ado, let's do this thing.

How many times do you wash your face daily?
I wash my face during the day when I'm in shower and during the night before I go to bed.

What skin type do you have?
I have an oily skin. I used to hate it but I read somewhere that if you have an oily skin, it will slows down the aging process! Now you can look younger than the rest of the fam lol

Do you exfoliate?
I do.

What brand do you use?
I'm using the Good Virtues Co. Glowing and Goodness Brightening Facial Scrub.

What moisturizer do you use?
I use the aloe vera gel that I got from Guardian as my moisturizer because I had a tough time finding a good moisturizer for my skin. The aloe vera gel works amazing on me so yeah.

Do you have freckles?
No, I don't.

Do you use eye cream?
I don't but I wish to have one in my skincare routine though.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
I believe I haven't try using that brand. Is it good? If any of you is a Pro-activ user, comment below! I want to know your thoughts about it.

What foundation do you use?
I'm currently loving the Sephora 10HR Wear Perfection Foundation. It doesn't cause me breakout.

How about concealer?
I'm using the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer for my under eyes and Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer for my pimple scars, dark spots and redness.

Do you know your undertone color?
Yeah, I'm more to the warmer side/ warm-toned.

What do you think of fake lashes?
I tried wearing them quite a few times but it was so uncomfortable maybe because I'm not used to it. It feels like a 'roof' above your eyes y'know what I'm saying? But I think it compliments and dramatizes some eye look making them appear more beautiful.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
I do but sometimes I just don't want to throw my half-used products because that'll be a waste #SorryNotSorry

What brand of mascara do you wear?
Maybelline and Silkygirl.

Sephora or MAC?

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
I wish!

What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
Makeup brushes, makeup sponges and sometimes I use my fingers haha.

Do you use makeup base/ primer for the eyes?
Nah fam. I just use my trusty ol' concealer and set it with powder.

For the face?
As for now, I don't because I'm always in a hurry so gotta skip that.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
Neutral colors definitely.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Both. I use pencil eyeliner for tightlining purpose only. And liquid eyeliner I love to use is from the brand IN2IT. They are as amazing as Maybelline's and Loreal's.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Just for the first time when I tried to tightline my eyes and I think that's all.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows? Like glitter pigments?
I think they're cool and I wish to have one in my makeup collection. Just the thought of them glitter pigments will be getting in your eyes and will blind you afterwards... I don't know if I still want them in my makeup collection or nah.

Do you use mineral makeup?
No, I don't.

What is your favorite lipstick?
MAC Velvet Teddy. I'm not over it.

How about lipgloss?
I tried a lipgloss from Revlon and I would say it's not the best but not the worst either. Just okay.

What is your favorite blush to use?
Gotta be MAC in Dainty!

Do you buy your makeup on eBay?

Do you like drugstore makeup?
Of course I do! I'm like the bargain-girl.

Do you go to CCO's? (Cosmetic Company Outlets)
Never heard of it in my place though but if they have it in here, I will be the first to go.

Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?
I did, actually.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
I believe that I'm not.

Name a makeup crime that you hate.
Overly dark, not blended, defined and 'kinder bueno' type of eyebrows. I really cannot stand it, I cringe haha!

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I do but I never rock them that much especially colorful eyeshadows.

Which celebrity always has great makeup?
Lily Collins! And if I'm allowed to mention one more celebrity, it would be Jessica Alba.

If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use?
Definitely a lipstick.

Could you ever leave the house without makeup on?
Yes, if I'm too lazy to even wear a lipstick.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Of course.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
They are all amazing be it high end or drugstore, please don't make me choose.

What do you think of makeup?
Makeup is an enhancement. It's not all about covering up blemishes, but creating looks that can enhance your features and boost up your confidence level.

So, that's that. I hope you enjoyed reading and whoever reading this, please make a version of yours. Till then x

Mini Collective Haul

Hi everyone! I have a question. What's best than sleeping in your very own cozy room? Oh boy, I am so going to embrace my 20 days in here. Haha. So, before my flight home I have been to so many places and I did some shopping and I figured I would show you some of the things I bought. Yes, I said some because I forgot to bring the rest of them home. They're all at my apartment. So, yeah. Let's see what I actually got!

  • Casual basic long sleeve knit top (Red) - Padini
  • Casual long sleeve blouse tee (Stripes) - Padini
  • Fine-knit cardigan - H&M
  • Denim jacket - H&M
  • Pure Seduction Body Mist - Victoria's Secret
  • 24 pieces makeup brush set

I have so much perfumes already and all I need was a new body mist in my fragrance collection. It smells so fresh and romantic! It is my favorite fragrance, by the way. I wrote it here but in that post it was in the older packaging and now they have the newer ones which really sophisticated and sleek looking. As for the makeup brushes, I bought it at the mini shop outside the Giant mall. It was RM48 and it was a real bummer when I saw it at other places and they were selling it at much cheaper price. Hmph!

That's about it for my collective haul. I still have quite few items that are not included, so that means more hauls! For now, I will enjoy these items I bought, wearing them regularly. For about two weeks later, I want more clothes. Yup, it is what it is. It's in my blood. Haha! I love buying new clothes for no reason, judge me. How can you resist when there is a sale? And Padini? They have like tons of good quality clothing and with quite affordable price too; I am in.

So, what items did you recently get?

My Blogging Sins

I was enjoying my mom's nasi lemak last night, and I suddenly thought of all the things that I never have done as a blogger. I am not one of the successful blogger out there. I am a terrible blogger. I admit. I commit all of these blogging sins though. Let's jump right in.

I don't own white bedsheet/ white background/ marble background
White bedsheet, everything white and rose gold and marble, seem like the ultimate blogger trend now. I feel so guilty for not having one! I feel like I am not in the blogging community y'know. If you did see my background is a marble, that's probably the floor in my house.

I don't give a shit about SEO/ Google Analytics
I judge my blog's success based on how much I enjoy writing it and how much people enjoy reading it. Lots of people seem to be overly concerned about their domain authority and stuff like that, which I do not mind at all I mean, it is your blog you can do whatever you want with it. Honestly, I could not care less. Google Analytics is one of the most complicated things in the world, and I do not deal with complicated things.

I don't own any bullet journals
If you do not aware of the bullet journals, you can google it. I do not use bullet journal for my blog. I know bullet journal has the ability to customize and organize your to-do list, your next blog posts or sketchbook or literally anything. Here in Malaysia, they are just so expensive. It is not ideal for a notebook. Since I am a cheapskate, then I will have just a regular notebook, pretty colored pens and lots of washi tapes to customize everything and it gets the job done too so I am okay. But, I do not mind if you want to give me a free bullet journal though lol.

I thought I can run it alone
When it comes to blogging, you cannot just go it alone. Trust me, you cannot. You need friends, support and advice. Lots of them. And I do not do that, I do not work with other bloggers, I do not collaborate. I know successful bloggers do not go it all alone, and I guess I am not of them yet.

I have unstable blogging niche
I know I posted a lot of things beauty and I have a huge love for it, but sometimes I get exhausted from posting about beauty stuff. Trust me, it is tiring and burdensome to have a stable blogging niche. But I am trying! That's why I do not claim myself a beauty blogger or whatever because sometimes I do not stick to one specific genre. Or probably because I do not buy makeup all day errday.

I don't own any tools or blogging equipment
I absolutely do not have any blogging equipment, I mean a basic camera? Nah. Photoshop? Nah. Studio lighting? Nah. I use my very own phone's camera and natural lighting. The phone I am currently using is Samsung Galaxy S4, and that is the only blogging equipment I have. I really want to invest in a good camera but I just cannot bring myself to get started. *sigh*

I don't have my own domain name
I think I made it clear that I am a cheapskate. I hate spending my money towards something intangible actually. So, I just stick to then. Maybe if money wasn't my #1 problem, gurlll I will do just about anything, ANYTHING, for my blog.

So, that concludes my blogging sins. Now, let's hear from all of you out there. Do you commit any blogging sins too? Shoot! Till then x
