Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer

I know, I am late to the club. This is perhaps one of the hardest to get because it's often out of stock, at least in my place. Anyway, this is the Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer. Phew, that's a long name. I had been curious about it for quite some time so I had to go out and get it for myself. I have to give it to Tati and KathleenLights for loving and approving this concealer.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer
Price: RM17.90
Size: 5ml
Availability: Guardian and also available online
Shades availability: 3 - 005 Light Natural, 010 Porcelain, 020 Light Beige

Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

It comes in a clear packaging. I am not sure if it's a glass or a plastic tube but it seems really sturdy. There's only one way to find out but it would not be necessary to throw it across the room. And it has a normal size of doe foot applicator. (looking at you, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer)

I got the shade 010 Porcelain. I was only left with 005 Light Natural and 010 Porcelain, so I have to go with 010 Porcelain. I wish 020 Light Beige was available because that would match me perfectly but the shade was sold out. 010 Porcelain is a bit light and greyish for my skin tone but I am able to make it work. I hope they will come out with more shades to represent every skin tone in the future.

The texture is really creamy and thick, but I had no issue blending it out. As long as you are blending it fast and not taking your sweet time blending, it will be a smooth process. The very first time I tried this concealer was without any foundation and skincare, and it accentuate the teeny-tiny little bumps under my eyes and it looked super drying. But on top of foundation and whatnot, it's a match made in heaven. I just had to put it out there - this is the type of concealer that needs to go with your foundation.

As far as coverage goes, it has a great coverage, it's pigmented and buildable. You can definitely apply a little but it covers quite well. I would not say it completely covers a really blueish under eye circle, it just covers a slightly darker under eye area and brightens it. In terms of acne scars, I don't have intense scars and texture on my face, so it really cover them up pretty well. It does not look cakey and not settle into my fine lines, probably because I am scared to put too much. Even after a long day, nothing major creasing or settling into fine lines action happens.

Staying power

Great staying power! Good job, Catrice. I was pleasantly surprised with this concealer, it held up until the end of my day with minor creasing. I guess the waterproof propertyquick drying action and matte finish helps it to stay put and not settle into fine lines.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Great coverage
Waterproof, sweat-proof
Great staying power
Little to zero creasing into fine lines
Looked amazing on top of foundation

Always sold out
Strong perfume scent
Poor shade range
Accentuate dryness if you wear it alone

Overall, this is a great product, I can see myself repurchasing it (let's hope I can get the right shade next time) and it's reasonably priced. I like the coverage, it's long lasting, it's a great value for money etc etc. Great job, Catrice! I really recommend it. You definitely have to try it out because it's worth the hype and money.

Have you tried this concealer? What's your favorite drugstore concealer?

How To Layer Your Skincare

So, with Eid coming up in just several days from now, I think it is wonderful for me to share with you guys how to layer your skincare. I mean, we still have time to look good before the big event, so do not waste this opportunity. You may own the most effective, proven-to-do-magic, expensive skincare  products but somehow it still doesn't work on your skin. One of the reason is because you did not layer it correctly.

1. Double cleanse

I really recommend to double cleanse your face because some facial cleansers work effectively this way. If you do double cleanse, you have been doing it right. Now, there are options when it comes to double cleanse:

  • oil-based makeup remover - suitable for people with dry skin type
  • water-based makeup remover - suitable for people with oily skin type

And only then going in with your regular facial wash. I have an oily skin, so my routine goes like this: water-based makeup remover > facial wash.

2. Tone

While the skin is slightly damp, apply you favorite toner. The purpose of a toner is to remove any makeup residue or excess dirt that your cleanser is incapable of removing and also to balance the skin's pH. Toners are great to provide hydration, tighten your pores and to plump up the skin.

3. Treatments

This is the right time to put on your pimple creams, tea tree oils, vitamin c etc. It is because your skin is all cleansed, you are toned and hydrated.

4. Serum

Serums, the most lightweight, thinnest and most active. You have to layer it before your moisturizer because they are so potent and you want your highly potent ingredients to absorb first. Serums are great for specific skin concerns such as wrinkles and redness. They are highly concentrated so 2-3 drops should be enough.

5. Moisturize

Do not skip this step. You already did so many good things on your skin, so it is time to seal it all in with a moisturizer that is right for your skin type.

  • Dry skin type - opt for a slightly heavy type of moisturizer/ creams
  • Oily skin type - lighter/ water-based/ gel formulas are highly recommended

6. SPF

Do not forget your sunscreen during daytime! Especially in Malaysia, it is like summer all year long. So, never neglect it before you walk out the door. This should be the last to sit on top of your skin and in my opinion, for every day use, a sunscreen that has below SPF50 is good enough. Now, you are good to go.

P/s: Do not forget to exfoliate twice a week and that eye area needs extra love too.

And that my friend, is how to layer your skincare. Are you applying it in the right order?

Focallure 18 Shades Full Function Palette in 01 Bright Lux

Focallure 18 Shades Full Function Palette in 01 Bright Lux | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

I am so excited for today's post! I have been meaning to do a review the moment I got it, played with it and swatched it. So, today I will be reviewing Focallure's eyeshadow palette. If you haven't heard of Focallure, it is a makeup brand from China. It is quite popular because the quality of their eyeshadows on par with high-end ones. I was so excited to get my hands on it so I decided to buy one from a legit Instagram shop for RM40. You can also get it from Shopee, Alibaba and from their own website too.

It comes in a black cardboard packaging. I mean, for the price, you cannot expect much. Although it is a cardboard, it does not feel cheap at all. There are plenty of brands came out with packaging like this. I do not have any issue with that. Oh and, it has a magnetic closure that keeps the eyeshadow safe and sound.

There are 18 shades in this palette, hence the name. You get 10 matte shades, 1 satin shade and 7 freaking awesome metallic, foiled, glittery shades. I figured the color scheme is ranging from oranges, terracotta to berry tones. I like the fact that each color has its own name, which makes it easier to explain.

Texture & pigmentation

As I swatch the matte shades with my fingers, I can feel that they were a little too pressed down because it was barely any fallout. Although I said such stuff, I do not know how they do it but most of them are so buttery still, and so pigmented! There are a couple of shades that did not show up that nice and the pigmentation was just not there but overall it is a pretty awesome palette.

Meanwhile, the metallic, foiled, glittery goodness shades, they are all gorgeous! I was so blown away by them. The colors show up really intense, the pigmentation is definitely there, spot on, mind-blowing and just great across the board. They are best applied with your fingers rather than a brush because it is more ka-poww that way.

Blends easily
Great formula
Minimal to zero fallout
Excellent pigmentation
Does not irritate my eyes

Some shades tend to get muddy as they blend
Some colors are dry and stiff

All in all, this palette is amazing. Almost all colors are great and beautiful. If you love playing with makeup but still does not want to spend so much money, I would say go for it. It would not break the bank, no? I mean, the pigmentation is even hard to achieve in a drugstore eyeshadow palette too. So, it is really nice to own one of these palettes.

Have you tried this eyeshadow palette?

Beauty Stuff I'm Currently Trying Out

Hello everyone! In today's post, I will be giving you a little peek to see what is new to my beauty stash. I have been testing so many beauty products over the last couple of months and I have got some real gems. And I have bought a new makeup organizer too! No more messy vanity.

I was recently introduced to the Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash | RM19.80, thanks to Twitter. I am such an avid reader of beauty accounts on Twitter and the amount of time the goodness of this face wash being seen on my timeline is just crazy! I cannot help it. So I gave in and bought it to try it for myself. So far so good. I cannot tell you much just yet, I will definitely give you guys an update after using it for the next few weeks or so.

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner | RM36. It is my first time using this kind of eyeliner because I am so used to liquid and pencil liner, so I am trying this one out of pure curiosity and the best thing is I got it on sale! My first experience with it was a little bit shocking 'cause it was surprisingly easy to control, it was a breeze and it didn't budge at all. I also picked up IN2IT Supreme Waterproof Eyeliner | RM18. This is bae because it is so pigmented and super waterproof, hence the name.

Silkygirl No Sebum Mineral Powder | RM20. Does this screams "Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder" to you? 'Cause it does. I wanted to try this one just to see if it is on par with its rival or even better than the rival. We shall see in an upcoming review from yours truly.

I am so hyped for that one and even more hyped for this one! I am trying out the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer | RM26 and people have been buzzing that the formula is a lot like NARS's Radiant Creamy Concealer, which is pretty awesome. Initially, I wanted to get the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer but they were all sold out, so I picked up this one instead.

Last but not least, I also bought Focallure 18 Colors Eyeshadow Palette | RM40 just 'cause I want to apply my makeup skills on others. And I just want to add another palette in my collection. Yes, my makeup collection is expanding!

What are you trying out at the moment?
