Wardah Sun Care Suncreen Gel SPF30

Wardah Sun Care Suncreen Gel SPF30 | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Hello gorgeousness! I am back with another skincare review. I will be pro and con-ing all about the Wardah Sun Care Sunscreen Gel. If you haven't heard before, it's an Indonesian skincare and makeup brand that focuses on halal (no alcohol whatsoever) ingredients in their products. Now, I have tried a few bits and bobs out of their brand like their vitamin C serum (the bomb dot com!) and a few of their lip products. And honestly, the lip products weren't the best in my opinion.

Anyway, I am nowhere near finishing my Biore sunscreen (not the yellow bottle one, it sucks) but I was so desperate to try a new sunscreen that has no alcohol in it just because. Then, I went out to the nearest Watsons and wandering through aisle by aisle, reading ingredients of lots of sunscreen and almost throw up, I found out that Wardah has a sunscreen with no alcohol content (and cheap too!) I was sold!

Wardah Sun Care Suncreen Gel SPF30 | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

So this sunscreen has an SPF of 30 with 40 ml of product. It retails around RM 11 to RM 16 and you can get this at Watsons only. I find that the price is fair for the amount I am getting. I have used this every day for over a month now and I am nowhere near done with my first tube. That's good.

Packaging-wise, I love it! It's a really simple squeezable tube. It's travel-friendly packaging in my opinion - not heavy, simple and just nice kinda packaging. I am not getting any trouble with this packaging. No product leaking whatsoever. I am just living for it. I wish all sunscreens in the world are made like this. It dispenses product so easily! No fuss, no muss.

As far as the product itself goes, I am digging it. Although the packaging clearly says "gel" sunscreen but it is not. It's very white, just like every other sunscreens in the market but the texture and consistency is something else. It has a gel-like consistency and very lightweight. It's not too thick but not runny either. Just nice for my liking. It leaves a slight whitecast upon applying it to the face but it disappears in no time! So this sunscreen didn't do any of the tone-up effect on me which I hugely, hugely thankful for. I also can see it's a little bit greasy-looking after application but it doesn't bother me that much. I look super glowing and I love it! Oh and, it didn't break me out (looking at you, Biore yellow bottle sunscreen, I hate you).

Wardah Sun Care Suncreen Gel SPF30 | LENNE ZULKIFLLY
Not blended | Slightly blended

What I like about it:
Gel-like consistency
Absorbs right away
No whitecast if I blend evenly
Travel-friendly packaging
Value for money
Doesn't break me out

What I don't like about it:
The scent

Will I repurchase?
Yes. A thousand times yes!

Overall, I really love this sunscreen. I highly recommend if you are looking for an alcohol-free sunscreen. As far as what skin type would really enjoy this product, I am not quite sure. All of the ingredients are amazing for dry skin but my skin is totally the opposite of dry and I enjoy it still. I recommend to do a patch test. Other than that, this sunscreen works amazing and affordable. 9/10!! I hope you find this review helpful and till then xx

Have you heard of Wardah before? Have you tried anything from the brand? What's your favorite sunscreen?

How I Feel About The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

How I Feel About The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Hello gorgeousness. As you can see from the title, I will be reviewing The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% today. It's going to be a long post, I can feel it but hopefully it's enjoyable any other way. But first things first, it's only fitting if I throw a quick disclaimer before I start telling you how I actually feel about the serum.

All opinions are completely my own experience as a consumer. If you like the product, good for you. If you don't, okay we're cool. Please take everything I said in this post with a pinch of salt. Another thing is my skin type. I have an oily skin and slightly acne-prone. PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) is my #1 skin concern. I guess that's all I can think of right now.

So, what made me buy the Niacinamide serum?

I bought it on November 2018 and it was around that time where I experienced a complete breakout. I was trying out so many new skincare products few months back. Long story short, one day, while I was scrolling through my Twitter timeline, I feel like The Ordinary Niacinamide was having its very moment where everyone kept talking about it, how good or bad it is. It was a lot to take in but I did my own research like I always do. I read and read and read (only legit informations, though) and placed my order. Just like that.

It claims to help with breakouts, sebum, pores and blemishes. Of course I was sold because I was in desperate need to fix my skin. Also, my skin loves any product that has Niacinamide in it. So, I thought it was a great move to pull out the 'big gun'. And by 'big gun' I mean trying out a pure 10% Niacinamide serum because "Yeah, it will work! What could possibly happen?"

Well, sadly, it didn't work. *crying inside*

I gave it a full shot. I tried it properly, I didn't neglect my sunscreen and my basics are pretty okay. I didn't use it on my skin and expect an overnight result. I was really patient with it because I want it to work. I know this kind of product could be tricky, that's why I was being patient through and through. But still, it didn't work.

I didn't remember exactly my first application but it was within the first week of December 2018 and I remember I did a patch test and I apply this method where I only use once of the serum during the first week and I will see how it 'meshes' with my skin. After that, I will apply twice for the second week and thrice for the third week and so forth. This is the method I use to 'introduce' an intense or tricky skincare like this to my skin.

How I Feel About The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

First week application

I was so scared. I don't know what was the thing that I scared about. Probably the serum won't work on me? But I spew out that thought because that's bad luck. So, first week application - I was already getting a new kinda pimple on my skin. I can feel it. It's hiding under my skin. However, I am well aware about all the 'purging' thingy and that's why I kept having a positive thought about the serum and I kept using it.

Second & third week application

Oh. My. Goodness. It was insane. It gave me a lot of the 'under skin' pimple mainly on my chin and my forehead. I am not comfortable with the 'under skin' pimple because it's huge under there and you cannot pop it, you are unable to see it but it's there under your skin. I know this was the culprit. It's the only new thing that I put on my face during that month. My skin probably wasn't ready for it so I decided to stop using it. Yup, just like that.

It didn't help with my breakouts and had the audacity to add more to my breakout 'collection'. My pores stayed the same. I don't normally have any issues with my pores but just to let you know it did absolutely nothing. And as far as blemishes and the sebum, no good news at all. It's definitely a flop for me.

So, what now?

If y'all haven't caught up with my activities recently, I have gone full on basic with my skincare routine. I am free from any serums, essences and all of that good stuff for a little over a month now. I guess this is the solution. I don't want to risk my skin. I don't want to mess up with it again, I am only gonna use products that are a-okay with my skin. My skin is at a good place now, thank goodness. I cannot put too much product on my skin, especially the intense ones like this. It will acts up.

I guess you already got the answer. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is not for me. It didn't work on my skin. I will not repurchase it. I still have mine for about 70% of its content and I don't know what am I supposed to do with it. Alrighty, that's all I have for you guys today. I hope you enjoy it. See you in the next one xx

Have you tried any of The Ordinary products? Have you tried the one I mentioned?

Beauty Product Empties #4

Beauty Product Empties #4 | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Hello gorgeousness! It's time for another empties. There were actually so many products than these that I had to toss in the bin because I had a flight back home last 2 weeks and I sure don't want to carry empties with me. That is such a waste of space. So that's that. I still hope you enjoy a rundown of my beauty product empties!

Some By Mi 30 Days Miracle Toner | Repurchased

Can someone please tell me why I can't bring myself to give you a full review of this toner? I have repurchased this baby 2 times and that shows. I am basically a dead fish without this. I can see that my scars lessen, it purges my 'active' pimples and I think it works pretty much the same with the Pixi Glow Tonic just different ingredients. And this is more mild than the Pixi Glow Tonic. But I love them both, I can't choose.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner | Repurchased

This toner is my lifesaver. It does everything that it says. It hydrates, soothes and moisturizes. This is an oily-skin friendly product although some people may disagree with me. It's also sulfate-free, alcohol-free, fungal acne safe and has anti-aging properties in it! That huge bottle could last more than a month if you are using it a little less than I do.

Beauty Product Empties #4 | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Aiken Tea Tree Oil | Will not repurchase

One thing I love about this bad boy is that it didn't dry out my skin like some people might experienced. I have to say it's taken too much time for me to see the difference or result after using it. That's why I have replaced this with Mario Badescu Drying Lotion because obviously the drying lotion works overnight.

Bougas Beauty Advanced Serum | Will repurchase but not now

Another bottle of Bougas Beauty Serum made it to my empties. This is my third bottle and I have tried to include this in the previous empties but I keep forgetting about it. I have talked about the serum and how I feel about it. I am so excited with this upgraded and better packaging - with a pump and 5 more ml were added to the serum. I am obsessed with this serum because my skin will be glowing after every application! There's no reason to hate this baby (other than the price - it's flipping 75 ringgit for 20ml product) but I have stopped myself from using any serum for a while because I want to focus more on my basics.

Pixi Glow TonicRepurchased

I love this freaking little thing! I love this one as I am able to see positive results in such a short time. The first time I used it, it stings so bad! I can't bear the stinging sensation for over 2 weeks. Now, I can hardly feel anything anymore. My face feels so good after using this. It feels squeaky clean!

Hiruscar Post Acne Gel | Repurchased

If you are looking for a drugstore product to reduce acne scars, this is a good one! It's great for PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) and the ingredients are spot on - it has Niacinamide. Yes, I am so obsessed with Niacinamide. I am sorry, I know it's annoying. I use this gel after my toner so it absorbs and sinks in the skin right away. You will get better result in a short time, I guarantee.

Have you tried any of the products mentioned? What are your thoughts about it?

My Go-To Eyebrow Looks

My Go-To Eyebrow Looks | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Hello gorgeousness! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Let's talk eyebrows! I think eyebrows have the power to change up your whole appearance. Although they're vary from woman to woman but they bring this one thing called balance. Eyebrows frame the face - so they say.

I have been experimenting lots of eyebrow looks lately (because I hung out a lot last week) and that is the reason why I am making this blog post. I have come to a conclusion where I think these brows you will be seeing in a minute are my favorite, my go-to eyebrow looks.

Disclaimer: I don't have a lot of eyebrow hairs. I am lacking in that department. No, not because I over plucked; my family is blessed with less hair and that's that. No, I don't do them every day. Most probably when I have some places to go, errands to run etc. Anyway...

First look:

My Go-To Eyebrow Looks | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

This is, hands down, my favorite look because I just go with my natural brow shape and boom! I am done. The softly arched brows are right up my alley. It compliments my face shape and the eye shape that I have, I believe.

I go in really light handed for the front part and a little heavy handed but with control at the end. I am doing all of this using only a brow pencil that my aunt got me during her visit to Japan. And on top of that, I will clean my brows using a concealer. I cannot skip this step because I am so lazy to pluck them stray hairs nowadays!

Second look:

My Go-To Eyebrow Looks | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Whenever I am feeling fancy, I will do the 'korean brows' but with my own twist. The 'korean brows' are known for their straight, soft, natural and innocent look. I like the shape and that's why I did it but I still go heavy handed at the end, whereas 'korean brows' tend to look natural and soft all the way.

A lot of concealing will take part for this eyebrow look just because. I don't use eyebrow tint or eyebrow gel that much anymore so yes, a single eyebrow pencil and a concealer will do. I know right.

One thing that I feel worth sharing to you is that vaseline can actually grow out your eyebrow hairs faster, as well as lashes. How would I know? I apply that trick on myself and see the amazing result ;) So, that's that. I hope you enjoy today's post! Xx

What's your go-to eyebrow look? Do you have any eyebrow tips and tricks?

The Body Shop Vitamin E Skincare Range

The Body Shop Vitamin E Skincare Range | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Hello gorgeousness! I have been a fan of The Body Shop for years. Their vanilla eau de toilette is undoubtedly a major favorite of mine. That's honestly the very thing I would grab from their store every single time. It's phenomenal, and I thought I would expand my The Body Shop collection. I am so happy I did that and this time around I am trying their Vitamin E skincare line!

Before anything, it would be fitting if I share what it claims to do, yea? The range is said to protect our skin against pollution, cigarette smoke and UVA/UVB rays. The whole range is formulated with vitamin E, hyaluronic acid and wheatgerm oil. It is also made for all skin types.

I want to give this skincare range a try because I honestly think it would be a lifesaver for the rough journey of my skin. My skin had been so dull and a lot of my skin concern keeps coming back to haunt me. So I think this vitamin E range would fill in the blank and be great for my skin (and it does!). At this time, I only bought the essentials - facial wash, toner and moisturizer. Why? I don't feel the need to slap too much product on my face anymore. Got the essentials and I am good to go.

I have been sticking to a pretty simple and solid regimen where I start with The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash | RM 60. I have been using this face wash for a month or so now (same goes with the other 2 products) and on a regular basis in rotation with my CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser. First impression when I squeezed the tube was the texture. It looks like the thick, sticky lotion that you don't like. I was taken back a little but when I first applied and used it on my face, it was so light, creamy and non-irritating!

After have been experimenting with it, I can say that it doesn't do any of the tightness and dryness feeling after washing my face and no breakouts! So I kinda like it now. This is a cream-based facial wash and I personally think if you have dry skin, you will love this. My skin is of the oilier side but I see no problem with me liking this facial wash. I know my skin and I know it doesn't like a lot of cream-based products but this one takes the cake, I guess.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Skincare Range | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Next up is the The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner | RM 66. This is my holy grail. I cannot go a day without this toner. After I cleanse my face, I will apply this toner and it makes my skin so supple and hydrated. The consistency is not too thick, it's really soothing, hydrating and it has a pleasant scent which I find really nice. It's not sticky or tacky and it doesn't contain alcohol. I already have a backup of this baby. I love love love it!

Up next in my skincare routine is applying acne treatment gel and then I will go with The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream | RM 66. Now, as I was saying, my skin is really terrified with cream-based product. My skin will get irritated and itchy. I just know this moisturizer is not for me but not until I put it on my face that one night and I wake up with glowing and healthy looking skin. So that's the secret. My skin can actually cope with cream-based product but only if I use it at night.

Cream products typically heavy in consistency but this one is not. Actually the whole product in the range is not heavy at all. I guess that explains why my skin loves this vitamin E range. The moisturizer is quite tacky even after hours of application. It's also quite runny, meaning it will get messy inside there so be mindful when you place it.

Would I recommend this skincare range? Yes, if you are okay with spending that much money every single time. Also, this can be good for all skin types but if you are not okay with fragrance and parabens in your skincare, then I would say pass.

Would I repurchase? Absolutely! But not the moisture cream though because The Body Shop came out with a new gel moisturizer that suits normal to combination skin. I kinda wanna try that one next time.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Skincare Range | LENNE ZULKIFLLY
Bottom - facial wash; middle - moisturizer; above - toner
All in all, this is definitely a hit for me. I am beyond happy I tried this range. My skin has been really well behaved and respect me more because I spent a lot of money on her alone. LOL. All jokes aside, my skin loves this vitamin E skincare range from The Body Shop. It's gentle on the face, so soothing, hydrating and moisturizing. If that's what you are looking for, then look no further!

Have you tried anything from The Body Shop?

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer - Worth The Hype?

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer - Worth The Hype? | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Hello gorgeousness! I know, I know. I am late to the bandwagon. I couldn't help myself. Tati, being my absolute excellent makeup and beauty consultant and I do not own her most favorite concealer of all time?? Can't relate. So I went out to Sephora Sunway Pyramid and finally got my hands on it.

I had really high hopes for this. Lots of beauty gurus love this stuff. I mean, sure it is a really good stuff if they keep raving about it, right? Anyway, let me tell you something. It retails for RM 115 for 0.34oz of product. It is not an affordable concealer. At least, that's what I thought when I first saw the advertisement in my email. I personally wouldn't want to spend a 100 ringgit just for a tube of concealer. But I did it anyway.

Speaking of tube, I am actually surprised at how noticeably large the tube is and how much product you get! Yes, you get more product with Shape Tape versus other concealer - Nars Radiant Creamy concealer (RM 112) for 0.22oz, Too Faced Born This Way concealer (RM 126) has 0.16oz and Urban Decay Naked concealer (RM 108) has 0.16oz. So, take your pick.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer - Worth The Hype? | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Shape Tape concealer comes in a tube with a gigantic doe-foot applicator. It's so incredibly big that it picks up a lot of product in one dunk and that one dunk is all I need for my whole face. I think the huge and wide applicator (aside from the amount of product you get) is a great tactic to justify the price tag. It feels high quality and heavy duty.

This stuff is FULL COVERAGE through and through!! When my internet friends say it's full coverage, it's full coverage. It's not a false alarm. They mean it! The coverage is tip-top. It covers everything - blemishes, super dark and blueish under eye circles, you name it. Apart from that, a little goes a long way with this bad boy. What I always do is I take a little bit of product from the applicator with a blending brush and blend away. It blends really well and it will not lose its pigmentation. You don't need a lot of it, I tell you!

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer - Worth The Hype? | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer - Worth The Hype? | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

It's thick, hence the coverage. Even though it's thick, it goes super smooth under the eyes! You know sometimes concealers tend to make your under eyes look dry and 'crispy'? This, doesn't. As far as longevity goes, this stuff stayed put all day long. All. Day. Long. It did settle in my fine lines because that's the nature of having fine lines. Products like this will cling on to those lines. HOWEVER, nothing major. I swear I have had worse cases with concealers before and this is nothing near as dramatic as the others.

It also doesn't fade off or break apart or budge at all, at least on me. The key is not to apply too much because it WILL get cakey. I have a feeling this concealer is the one that will cake up if you use too much. I warned you.

What I like about it:

  • The coverage is totally impressive; full coverage and appears smooth and luminous under the eyes.
  • A tiny bit goes a loooong way. One dunk is all I need, I don't need to take more product.
  • The concealer is so smooth that I don't have to set with powder. It looks amazing all day either you set it with powder or not. I always prefer to set my concealer with powder to ensure its longevity but I am fine with not setting it anymore. I have an oily skin and this says a lot.
  • Long-lasting. Considering how oily my skin is, this stuff is amazeballs. It's an oily-skin-friendly kinda product is what I am trying to say.
  • No major creasing or accentuating lines. I would say minimal and still look good and smooth all day!
  • Even though it doesn't claim to be waterproof but I think it is.
  • It can lasts up to more than 3 months since I only use a tiny bit of it.
  • You actually got a ton of product with that price. I guess, I am over the crazy price tag for a tube of concealer. I am over it.

What I don't like about it:

  • The product dries quite fast. This is not the type of concealer where you can take your own sweet time blending. You gotta be ready to blend once you apply it to your face.
  • It does feel a tad heavy at times and will get cakey if you apply too much. Be warned.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer - Worth The Hype? | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Final thoughts:

All in all, this is the best concealer I have ever used. I have been wearing non-stop ever since I got it. No exaggeration! It does so much more than just spot concealing. I have been ditching my Maybelline Fit Me Foundation and use Tarte Shape Tape (only!) instead. God knows how much love I have for that foundation and now I am slowly getting rid of it. Wow. Within just a few weeks of usage, it has skyrocketed to one of my holy-grail! Tarte Shape Tape really did that. So, back to the real question - is it worth the hype? YES! A thousand times yes!

Have you tried Tarte Shape Tape before? What are your thoughts about it?

How I Revamp My Old Blog Posts & Give Them A New Life

How I Revamp My Old Blog Posts & Give Them A New Life | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Hello gorgeousness! I feel like this tag (or label, if you will) particularly has been touched very little on my blog. Mainly because I always picture myself as an amateur. 9 years down the road doesn't give me the ticket to talk about lots of blog stuff, I guess? Anyway, if I am being honest, some of my older posts make me cringe to the core. Just the thought of opening them and worst case, anyone else reading them. Ugh!

So I thought today it's about time for you and me to start revamping those older blog posts again and just bring them back to life through and through. I talked about these few tips before on this entry but that's that. If you have more tactics to share, comment them down below! #SharingIsCaring

  • General text/ typo errors/ choice of words improvements - These are the first up because, well, you are changing from time to time. You are not yourself anymore 5 or 6 years ago. Your choice of words might be better now and while you're at it, double check for any spelling errors. I always spot errors but I can't get away with it, still. There's always that one lil mistake that is so hard for you to spot.

  • Updating and replacing links - You do know that links can break, right? Broken links are bad for your SEO. It could be one of the reasons your SEO score is declining. The best way is to renew them and if you happen to have newer related posts to it, just add them in. The more the merrier.

  • Adding things in - As I mentioned to adding things in, you're not restricted to only add links, y'know. I mean, let's say you have reviewed a product before and your opinions changed a year after that or your skincare routine has changed and you're not using most of the products in that post anymore. Adding things in to justify the old content is always useful and relevant. Just like what I did here.

How I Revamp My Old Blog Posts & Give Them A New Life | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

  • Keeping it fresh with better photos - Some of us don't like chunks-and-blocks-of-word-only kinda post. It doesn't hurt to add an image to accompany your blog post, no? If you don't have all the professional equipments, you can always opt for stock photos. However, if you want to take new photos by yourself, then by all means. It's all up to you. [Worth reading]

  • Do not simply delete them - Revert them to your draft instead. I know as we grow, some things are not necessary in our life anymore but that doesn't mean you have to cut ties with it immediately. They were once your source of traffic y'know. Just prevent them from the public eyes and that's what I did. I keep them in there forever at this moment until I change my mind to repost them again. But for now, they are safe and sound in my draft.

How do you revamp your older blog posts?

Five Things In January 2019 | Intermittent Fasting & Bullet Journalling?

Five Things In January 2019 | Intermittent Fasting & Bullet Journalling?

I couldn't remember when was the last time I did a Five Things In _____ post as I was fairly unable to keep up with my life. I think I have a short term memory loss now, guys. I can barely remember what I was doing 8 hours ago. Okay, I probably shouldn't exaggerate it more than it should but you get the picture.

That is why I started bullet journalling this year. Yes. I've tried it before but I failed miserably. But I am back! I want to be able to keep track everything that I do in a day. I don't want to second guess everything I encountered in my life no more, so what I often do now is I always go back to my bullet journal after finish doing some stuff. That way I won't forget 70% of the things I did in a day. My bullet journal is like my baby now.

Bullet journalling is really individualized, in my honest opinion. Yes, it has its own system on how it should work and function. You will see a lot of monthly goals, weekly goals and whatnot on the Internet when it comes to bullet journalling. But it's all really up to you, really.  It's personal. You don't have to have spreads like everyone else. Make it simple and remember the reason why you started. I am loving my simple and intentional spreads for January. I can't wait for February's!

While I have a tracker now, I also keep an eye on my skincare routine. I can barely remember what I put on my face last night. I know it's crazy. I am basically keeping on track of everything these days. My memory is so bad! Anyway, I am full on basic skincare routine now. All the way. Back to basics. I want to start fresh with my skin, drink 8 glasses of water a day and sweat. And that is all I do. My skin is looking so hydrated, less acne scars and just healthy through and through. Here's my routine nowadays if you are wondering:

AM: Facial wash > toner > acne gel > moisturizer > sunscreen

PM: Double cleanse > toner > acne gel > masks > moisturizer

Five Things In January 2019 | Intermittent Fasting & Bullet Journalling?

On top of that, for a healthy looking skin (and nicer body too), I also decided to give intermittent fasting a shot. It's one of the trendiest topics these days, eh? Before I go on, some of you might be wondering, what is intermittent fasting? In my understanding, it's basically where you only eat during a specific period of time. For the time being, I am trying the 16:8 method where I fast for 16 hours and eat within the 8-hour window. Anyway, it's a long process and this entry could be a 30 minutes read if I don't stop here. Be prepared to see a post dedicated to my intermittent fasting experience in the future. That is if I am able to not procrastinate...

Searching the best color for this year's raya outfit is my kind of procrastinate too. I have been looking everywhere to find inspirations but I feel like nothing floats my boat. I kinda want to do pink with a little hint of champagne but my friends said it's mediocre. Then my sister went in with blue but I don't look good in all blue - royal blue, sea blue, SKY BLUE? I look the worst in them. If you happen to have any inspo, please help a sister out!

For the most part, I reached the 150,000 views mark for my blog!! I knew 2019 is going to be a good year for me. I made my own blogging goals inside my blogging notebook and "150,000 views in January 2019, pretty please" is one of them. I know what you're thinking. It's not like I reached 1 million views or whatever but still it's one of my biggest achievement. And I still am proud.

That's pretty much it. See you in the next one xx

My January was awesome. I love it. How about yours?

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl vs The Original Beauty Blender

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl vs The Original Beauty Blender | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Hello gorgeousness! I am a huge makeup sponge applicator fan when it comes to foundation application 'cause I think it's the fastest, fuss-free and overall makes the foundation looks natural and flawless. I have tried most of them - the cheaper options from Guardian, Daiso, Mr. D.I.Y etc. To be quite honest, none of them were my huge, HUGE favorite.

That being said, I am a huge fan of the Original Beauty Blender 'cause I think no one out there can mimic the softness, quality and the way it blends foundation like no other! I have been using it for quite some time. I have tried the Beauty Blender Pro too, but I think it's pretty identical to the original one so it's pointless. But if you have the budget, you can afford it, I say go for it. Who am I to judge.

Anyway, I recently went on a huge shopping spree (mainly online) 'cause that is, you can say an escape for me or that's just what I would do when my eyes won't shut at night. I love buying things for me. It feels good, it feels like a reward that I deserve.

Okay, back on the shopping spree. So I placed an order for Breena Beauty Blending Pearl in Black. Yup, at last! I am so excited to finally try this Blending Pearl because 1) it's made by one of the Malaysian beauty blogger - Sabrina Tajudin; 2) it's way cheaper than the Beauty Blender; 3) people have been saying it is a great dupe for the Beauty Blender.

Although I am a huge fan of the Beauty Blender and said that there's no one quite like it, I think I would still be able to give a fair comparison and verdict between these two.

Both sponges came in a clear cylinder plastic container. This thing comes in handy when I just washed my sponges and I don't want to throw them just like that in my makeup bag because lord knows how nasty it can get while they're in there. I really appreciate it because I don't have to find a storage to keep these sponges. I can just toss them right back where they belong.

You know how Beauty Blender looks like. The iconic pointy egg-shaped, or tear drop kinda sponge that lots of people out there tried to do an impression of (read: copy) but most of the time they're not quite like it. I like the pointy tip because of its 'just right' size and it's capable of reaching the sides of my nose, in between of my brows and the inner corner of my eyes.

Meanwhile, the Blending Pearl has the similar tear drop shape with a slanted side/ flat surface for an easy 'baking' application. It looks like the Real Techniques sponge, but not as much. I am so used to Beauty Blender that it felt weird (in a good way, though) using a sponge with a slanted side like the Blending Pearl lol.

I noticed that the Breena Beauty Blending Pearl is slightly bigger size than the Beauty Blender, which makes every foundation or concealer application faster. Regardless of sizes, they perform just the same but I will definitely go with the Blending Pearl when I am in a hurry!

They. Are. Both. So. Similar! They deliver similar effects and finishes to my foundation look in my opinion. They're also identical in texture if you look closely to both sponges. I honestly think Beauty Blender is softer than the Blending Pearl. The Blending Pearl is quite stiff for my liking. As far as how quick they absorb products, I guess the Beauty Blender absorbs quickly and absorbs more product than the Blending Pearl. Also, both are latex-free and if you have sensitive skin, Beauty Blender is the better option because it's more than just latex-free, it's anti-bacterial too.

Let's talk about the quality for a sec. I found that both of them are the best and durable because whenever I am done with my makeup, I wash them immediately and lord knows how rough I can be with them to get a thorough dirt-free and stain-free sponges. They survived my every squeeze, twist and pinch! All in all, I think Breena Beauty Blending Pearl is a good dupe for the Beauty Blender.

Breena Beauty Blending Pearl has got to be my favorite at the moment because:

  • it's cheaper (RM 35) than the Beauty Blender (RM 99)
  • the slightly larger size makes my foundation application quicker
  • makes 'baking' process such a breeze!
  • a reliable local brand like this deserves the spotlight

I am not ditching my Beauty Blender by all means. I am still going to use it just as much as my Blending Pearl. But let's be honest, the unforgiving price tag makes it absurd to keep repurchase one after another! I am going to save it for special occasions only (AKA the i'm-about-to-see-my-man kinda occasion), let's put it that way. Anyway, that is all for today. See you in my next post! xx

Are you a sponge kinda girl or brush kinda girl? What is your favorite sponge or favorite brush?

The Sunday Currently #3

Hello beautiful people! Welcome to my Sunday Currently. I hope you're all in the pink of health. I bet y'all currently living the best moment of your life :) Me? Myeh, aside from my arms getting toned and not drinking coke for 6 months, my days are pretty basic and mediocre. Wheww! Also, can we talk how on earth is it January 13th already? Time, please slow the frick down.

Anyway, *smirks* this is my Sunday Currently number tres (number three in Spanish).

Nothing, really. I've decided to take a break after I finished rereading To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han that I recently (and initially) bought for my sister because she wanted one. I thought before the book becomes hers, might as well reread it. It's my money after all. Haha.

I am working on a few drafts here (I am talking about major entries that has been requested a lot). I don't know when will I finish these up but gotta finish what you started, gurl. #PrayForYaHomegirl

Imagine by Ariana Grande. This puts me in a really, really good vibe! Actually, almost all of her music puts me in a chill and good vibe. I feel like she can do no wrong. I know, I sounded like I worship her or something. But in all honestly, she's the real deal.

.... of a lot of stuff. I have so many thoughts running inside my head. I wish my brain could stop thinking for a moment, but we all know what's about to go down if your brain really stops working.

Vanilla by The Body Shop. Just because.

For a miracle. I really need some good news to justify my 2019. It has been odd and not so promising so far.

To master my calligraphy skill because this is looking hopeless. My bullet journal is looking hopeless. I can't do calligraphy for shit.

A floral bell-sleeved blouse that I got from Padini with a mid-rise white jeans from Nichii. I just got back from hanging out with my friends.

The weight I am losing! And how toned my arms are getting! I love the progress I am making, love how I am so attached to this lifestyle, love how my skin looks because of the workout. Aaaah! So much things to love!

A new phone and laptop! And bunch of hijab from Ariani. Pretty please?

N E E D I N G
In need of a new pair of sport shoe. I really set my eyes on soooo many pastel-colored sport shoes that I know don't go with most of my outfits.

Hungry despite having lunch about an hour ago.

How was your weekend? Happy Sunday, gorgeousness!

Korean Sheet Mask | The Game Changer?

Sheet masks are some of the hottest item on the Korean skincare. They are widely popular and some say they are simply magic in a sheet form and little did I know, they are a total game changer. I am in the mission and aiming to have scars-free skin, pimple-free skin, less oily and more glowy and dewy!

I know deciding on which one to buy can be a little overwhelming because it's just so many brands to choose from, let alone each of them focus on something different. I would say do a little research beforehand, read genuine and quality reviews, experiment a lot, or bring an "expert" friend to help you decide on which one is worth the money.

I normally use sheet masks at night before I hit the bed so I would wake up with my skin feeling so super fantastic-o! You can use them whenever you want, obviously. It's just a matter of preference.

Now, the real question is, what Korean sheet masks did I use? Which Korean sheet masks that are totally a game changer? Which Korean sheet masks that worth every penny?

My answer is: Mediheal

I have tried the ones from Innisfree, Cosrx, Tony Moly, Etude House, and some other K-brands that I had a hard time remembering their name. I have tried tons of them, let's just put it that way. I swear they're all different and unique BUT there's nothing like Mediheal.

Know why? You can almost see the result, instantly. Especially their I.P.I Lightmax Ampoule Mask. That, blow my mind away and made me wear it again for the next 5 days just because I wanted to see if any drastic changes happen to my skin. Which I think it really did. I can see most of my scars not completely gone but huge part of it has definitely cleared.

I love them all, at least the ones I tried, honestly. They worked wonders! But I totally fall in major love with the one I just mentioned because it performs better for my skin concern (post acne hyperpigmentation). It has a brightening property - it has arbutin and sodium hyaluronate high up in the ingredient list. Also some other fruit extract and vitamin C further down the list. Now you get it why it worked almost instantly.

I also tried their N.M.F Aquaring Ampoule Mask and it burns when I first put it on my face! I swear it was so uncomfortable and I cannot wait to take it off. After 10 minutes or so, it was okay and not as burning as the beginning. I like this one too (but not as much as the pink one) because my skin almost feel like the 'glass skin' that everyone is obsessing over. My skin definitely feels more hydrated, my pores are minimized and overall my skin looks so healthy and rejuvenated.

The ampoule or essence that comes with it packs a ton too! I think this is also worth mentioning. They're so generous with it. Although it's often we hear that sheet mask like this is for single-use only, but with loads of juice like that, I believe you can use it twice. I have done that multiple times!

Just a heads up, they didn't play around with what they put as ingredients, for sure. I mean, arbutin, sodium hyaluronate, ceramide, collagen and some other amazing ingredients really sits on top of the ingredient lists. It's not impossible to achieve your skin goals with Mediheal's sheet masks, I tell you.

I wish ALL of Mediheal's sheet masks available at our drugstore, y'know. They have tons of other variety that I want to try so bad, in which you can but you can only get it online, I guess? Now, I am a very insecure girl and I question the genuineness of almost everything online when it comes to skincare.

So, is it worth every penny though? For me, yes. They retail from RM 8-RM 14 a piece, which is not so bad. It's reasonable. It's not crazy sky high like SK-II or something. At the end of the day, it worked. End of story. Where to get it? I found that I have bought this from Watsons all along, I am not sure about other drugstores though.

I have to say, I have never been happier with my skin. It's definitely a positive progress I am seeing. I am so excited and for the most part, repeating the ritual - really taking the time to do something for myself every week is totally satisfying and enjoyable.

Have you tried any of Mediheal's masks? What is your holy grail sheet mask?

My 2018 in Alphabetical Order

Happy new year, gorgeousness! I'm sorry it took this long for me to publish this post. I'm not going to make this like a tradition on my blog amd I'm not restricted to this yearly but I guess let's have fun and challenge ourselves! My friend, Syaza, made one of her version and it was amazing! I can relate loads of them.

Without me rambling on too much, here's my 2018 in alphabetical order.

A | Amalina. No, I'm not talking about the song. It's my name. My real name. I used to hate it when people call me by my full name because I'm so used to people calling me 'Lenne'. Last year was different. Maybe it's time for me to accept that my name is unique too. 'Amalina' sounded so distinct to both of my ears but I kinda like it.

B | Belong. You are not anyone's property. I have learned the hard way. And if it's not belong to be, it's not going to. Do not force it.

C | Checkout. The year of clicking 'Checkout' button on an online store. The amount of money I spent online is illogical.

D | District 21. For my international readers, this is only fathomable by my fellow Malaysian readers. If you are Malaysian, you would know what I'm talking about. I went to District 21 last year and that was the first time I had set my foot in there. It was a great experience to overcome my fear of height! Planning on going there again this year.

E | E-mail. Collaboration e-mail to be exact. I have gotten so much e-mail asking for a collab but you know I do not do collab that much if they're not up to my standard. So I have to politely decline and please know that I appreaciate all of you. Maybe some other time! xx

F | Fried chicken. The (third) love of my life.

G | Goodbye. A year that I swear filled with so much goodbyes. It's crazy how this life is just a stopover.

H | Hello. A year that was also filled with lots of new hello. I can see quite a number of fresh faces in my life last year. It was awesome. This also applies to the new skincare that I picked up. I honestly said "Hello, welcome to my collection."

I | Independence. Taught a heck lot last year. I studied myself more than anything and this is how I survived. Woah, it's crazy the changes that a year makes.

J | Judge. I do not give a single damn about other people no more. You wear whatever you want to wear, you say whatever you want to say, you act like how the hell you want to act. In hopes of people would do the same thing for me. You do you, Imma do me.

K | Kitchen. I admit, I do not cook as much. Cooking is not my forte. However, last year it was like a playground to me where I tried bunch of recipes and not to mention, I baked! It's crazy! I'm such an adult now, huh? #MommyAreYouProud?

L | Liquid eyeliners. I have been buying liquid eyeliners non-stop but none of them ended up being fleaked out on my lids as I would show them to the world how snatched my winged liner is. I'm over it! I chose black eyeshadow to recreate the winged liner effect. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

M | Mother-in-law. Nope. Not happening. Not last year. This year? Pray for me!

N | Needy. I cannot emphasize enough how needy I am around the persons I love. This is totally one of my biggest flaw. Will I change it? Kinda yea, kinda nope.

O | OK. How I 'professionally' end every argument  and run from my mistakes and prolly my most used word.

P | Pause. It was a year of slowing down, take a little timeout, take a moment, pause and reflect before continuing anything. "Just take a moment, breathe and none of this will be remembered if you are rushing it." I said to myself over and over again like a mantra.

Q | Quality over quantity. I'm prolly one of those people who has like 5 friends. Maybe 6. Regardless, I like my small circle and I'm happy this way.

R | Research. Definitely the year of doing boatload of skincare reasearch! I'm so excited to learn something new every damn time. Doesn't it intrigued you and called you to do you own reasearch as why some companies would put one ingredient in a mouthwash and the same thing winds up in a toner?

S | Stress. I'm hundred percent sure I'm just stressed out not depressed. It's not that deep. You should learn the difference too.

T | Thank you, next. Honestly the only thing I have been listening to since it's came out. So so so good! Kudos to you, Ariana.

U | Us. 'Us' that I miss so much.

V | Vivy Yusof. Who doesn't want her life? Can we like exchange bodies for a week or two, Vivy? She is such a role model. Her IG story is the only thing I look forward to every day!

W | Waistline. I without a doubt have reduced few inches from my waistline measurement throughout 2018. It's crazy what stressing out can do to you.

X | Xx. My typical way to end sentences and it's cute, right? #PleaseTellMeItsCute

Y | Yellow. It was my last year's color. I surely had so many pieces with at least a little yellow on them. I wonder what is my color this year..

Z | Zoella. I was a fan because she was so relatable back then but not anymore. When I found out she has been living happily by scamming other people, ugh it baffles me! Thank god for drama channels on YouTube, right? Sorry Zoella, not supporting your brand anymore.

How's your 2019 so far? Any good feelings or the other way around? Tell me in the comments! xx
