I Am Not Buying These #2

I Am Not Buying These #2
Hello, gorgeousness! I'm back with another anti-haul post. It's like my new favourite thing to write quite frankly. I feel like I want to write about it all the time but I don't want to turn this blog into a full-on anti-haul blog. Anyway, disclaimer, the things I'm going to talk about are my personal views and the products may well be your most-loved products, and that's okay. It's a carefree type of post, it's fun and let's get on with my anti-haul rant.

Young Living Essential Oil and Aromatherapy
This is a pretty well-known brand for essential oils, and they seem pretty innocent until you find out they're actually a multi-level marketing (MLM) company. I bet Young Living is the world's largest essential oil MLM company.

I don't have any type of beef towards the participants but I just don't see myself supporting an MLM company. You know how an MLM company works and I've been told that only a handful of the participants are actually successful. Tons of them either don't make money or lose money. That's why I'm so against companies that are structured like this. They often draw people in with the false hope of getting rich quick. I've seen many MLM companies sell women on the dream of their own boss, yet many end up losing money. The companies often put less financially secure people into debt. If you want to buy essential oils, buy from traditional retail brands, not from MLMs. Choose wisely.

Anything by Mary Kay (cosmetics and skincare)
If you don't already know, yes, Mary Kay is also an MLM company. I cannot begin to tell how hurt I am to see fellow school friends that already fallen into the trap. It's not worth it, guys. Please find brands and companies that don't take advantage of people.

Kylie Cosmetics
Even though I love Kylie and overall her lifestyle as an entrepreneur, I have no desire to spend my money on her. She's pretty successful already and rich, to begin with, but to carry the image of beauty achieved by cosmetic surgery, just doesn't sit right with me. I have nothing against cosmetic surgery, btw. To me, the colours and products are really nothing special. I would rather just buy directly from Colourpop, which all of her products are also manufactured in the same lab as Colourpop's. *wink*

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
You know what I'm talking about. Yes, you've probably seen her all over Tik Tok or Youtube, the facial peel that turns your face into a scary bloodshot red colour. I'm not going to buy this because it looks scary and it's all over social media. I just don't get the hype around it. I've read somewhere that it stings and burns your skin so you need to be extremely careful when using it. And the fact that it contains 30% AHA which is way past the normal amount of 2% or somewhere around there, drives me nuts.

Beautyra Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes
This is a local product that I believe is not available outside Malaysia. It's an "influencer" type of brand, founded by @tyrakmrzmn on Instagram. This may sound harsh but I believe there's nothing revolutionary or unique when it comes to her eyeshadow palettes. It's quite tacky, cheap packaging, it contains ONLY 5 neutral shades and it retails for RM55... It baffles me. Just don't get me started on the bad customer service that they have.
Are any of these on your anti-haul too? Or will you plan on snatching these up?

  1. I don't support any local brands that are overly hyped with an outrageous high price tag to match. It's just not friendly for everybody and their budget. And talking about lipsticks and eyeshadows, I don't get it why local brands don't go for more diverse colours outside of the neutrals and nudes spectrum. We have tons of that already. Give us something spicy!!!
