Five Things In May 2021

I haven't really sat down to write a blog post in what feels like forever, so bear with me. I can't believe we're already nearing half of 2021 and it's been a bittersweet year so far. I don't really see how another half of 2021 could magically be better. I haven't left my house for months and I may actually spend an entire 2021 without going outside, really.

Anyway, May was a bit of a rollercoaster both in real life and in my blogging life, and I recently have been feeling so... off. So separated from this blogging world.

It feels like today I am gonna spend a huge chunk of my time here and then the next day I am nowhere to be found and it's like an endless cycle at the moment. I just want to state for the record as well that I love blogging with all of my heart and miss it dearly.

I am gonna try so hard not to feel burned out. Please send me all the good vibes and prayers.

Things that made me happy and grateful in May:

vaccinated!
Perhaps this is one of the biggest highlights of May. Yes, this girl is vaccinated! Getting the vaccine actually didn't really hurt at all because knowing me, I am scared of jabs. It happened in a blink of an eye and I am so grateful that the process was such a breeze.

I had no side effects other than fatigue right after the jab and mild muscle soreness after a couple of days. I feel like I have done my part to help end the pandemic and to protect my family, friends and my community. I would make the same decision again in a heartbeat.

A. VERY. MUCH. NEEDED. GATEWAY.

I want to believe I went to like a private island or something but it's just an undiscovered island with little to no creature. It's so calming. I would love to be in the middle of the ocean by myself surrounded by the water and breathtaking views.

I was being super generous and doubled up the amount of money I spent last month as compared to the month before, which was April. As far as my habits go, I did a pretty good job not forgetting my sunscreen! I know it should be a routine at this point but sometimes people forget, y'know what I mean?

Yup, my sleeping pattern is once again messed up. Please pray for this homegirl.

McDonald's iced latte
As a non-coffee drinker and never being a fan of coffee, I have resisted trying anything coffee, especially from places like McDonald's. Aside from their french fries, I don't have much faith in them.

I don't know what's gotten into me but I went ahead and ordered a small iced latte with normal sugar. It was incredibly sweet and to be honest, I don't really like the after-taste. So it was just mediocre to me and I don't know how some girls on my Instagram be drinking this every single day. No hate but to each their own.

dreamy sunset
I am so grateful to be living in a place that has the most beautiful sunset view, ever. And being the sunset chaser myself, I can't not take thousands of pictures. Bless my phone's gallery.

  6. I'm sorry that you've been feeling a bit off and not yourself recently. That can definitely feel overwhelming and draining when you are trying to keep moving forward. I hope you are able to take some time for self care and to do the things you enjoy. I hope those confusing feelings pass soon. <3

On another note, congrats on being vaccinated! I am, as well, and it feels like such a relief at this point. Also, your photos for this post are so gorgeous! I particularly love the ones of the ocean and sunset.

    1. Bullet journaling doesn't have to be creative. I think you're doing great as long as it has purpose in your life and is helping you with stuff. Thank you so much for reading, Eileen! xx
