My Ultimate ‘Failproof’ Everyday Makeup Routine

My Ultimate ‘Failproof’ Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello, gorgeousness! Sorry for being MIA but here I am! This is my first post for March 2023 and it's straight in with my ultimate ‘failproof’ everyday makeup routine and some incredible makeup discoveries you wouldn't want to miss. I've always wanted to give you guys the inside scoop on my makeup routine and what I use daily to achieve that ‘failproof’ title. The last one I did was back in 2019 lol so I guess today is THAT day!

I always get so many questions about my makeup over on Instagram since that is where I overshare the things I love, namely makeup and beauty stuff. This process and the products may vary slightly depending on my agenda and my mood that day, but generally, this is the routine and products I stick to for the most part.

My routine isn't necessarily the quickest but it's pretty easy to do. When it comes to makeup, I almost always love to take my time and appreciate the process and the end result.

Being the perfectionist that I am, I love to be so particular about some areas and I guess that is what made the whole routine ‘failproof’ for me. It stays put all day and sometimes the longer I wear the makeup the more stunning it looks. It's so strange but that's just the beauty of makeup.

Let's just begin, shall we? Oh, if you want more information on this beauty department, you can go ahead and click here. I share a lot of affordable beauty, skincare, reviews and beauty chit-chats in general. Now let's talk makeup!

My Ultimate ‘Failproof’ Everyday Makeup Routine

Step 1: Eyebrows

Oh, we're starting with brows? I don't know about you, but I am! Let me know if you're a face-first kinda person or an eyebrows-first kinda person? I'm still a fan of filling in my brows with a brow pencil, I think it's super quick, easy and failproof to me. I always keep this Maybelline eyebrow pencil on hand and sometimes I will rotate it with my trustee Goof Proof by Benefit. And then my favourite part when it comes to brows is brushing them up with a laminating-like gel! One of the best is Benefit Gimme Brow but I scored an amazing dupe for half of the price and it works just as well!

Step 2: Prime

Primer is a pretty huge deal for me — I can be a great judge for a good pore-filling primer hehe. There's no denying that good skincare is the biggest key to a flawless canvas but I think a good primer can take your makeup look to a whole 'nother level. For the last 10 months or so, my top pick when it comes to primer is definitely this one from Catrice! It is INCREDIBLE. It really helps smooth out any texture and blur pores. It smooths out your base like nobody's business and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

Step 3: Foundation

Holy guacamole, I swear by this foundation — it covers every redness and dark spot and honestly, sometimes I feel like I don't even need concealer or corrector anymore. It just does the trick. It's super full coverage for something that is so affordable and it stays intact the whole day! And being a full coverage foundation, it doesn't feel heavy or clogging on the skin. What is not to love?

Step 4: Conceal

Next, I use my holy grail concealer to cover my super dark under-eye circles and there's no other concealer in this world I trust more than Tarte Shape Tape. When my internet friends say it is life-changing, they're not being dramatic. I only use a few dots under my eyes and blend them with a dampened beauty sponge and it looks incredible! It wears for a long time, stays put and doesn't get super creasy, which I absolutely love!!

Step 5: Powder

This step is pretty simple — I set my face with this beautiful and affordable powder — which has been part of my routine for a couple of years now. It is simply amazing and if you have never set your face with a pressed powder before, this one will change your mind. It's so freaking good! It has a bit of coverage but it's not heavy and looks amazing on my oily skin.

Step 6: Bronzer

I feel like this is where I struggle the most when it comes to makeup. I did not know where to hit the right spot and find the right shade for my skin tone. And that is where Fenty Beauty comes to light in my life. I absolutely love their Sunstalk'r bronzers. They bring just the right warmth to my face and really tie everything together.

Step 7: Blush

Okay, this could be one of my favourite steps. I love a swipe of peachy pink blush on the apples of my cheeks. It brings life to the whole makeup look and MAC's Peaches is my absolute go-to. It's flawless, looks good on absolutely everyone and lasts forever. I have also been loving and using this inexpensive blush in the shade Tipsy. It's really good and pigmented.

Step 8: Eyeshadow

Yep, I do my eyeshadow after I'm done with my whole face. Judge me all you want but this routine works for me and that's all that matters.

Anyway, I have done the same eyeshadow look for years — it's so boring but it gets the job done. It doesn't have to be all fancy-schmancy for an everyday look. Y'all already know the drill, I only use this eyeshadow palette now and I don't care about the rest. I love it to bits, it's so good, pigmented, blends like a dream and is newbie-friendly!

The natural and bronzed tones here are perfect for an everyday day to night time look. No matter how many palettes I buy, this one, in particular, is always my go-to!

I always use the brush that comes with the palette or this fluffy brush for a wash of colour on the lid. The quality of the shadows is awesome and I don't know what they do but I have dropped this palette so many times and none of them broke, even the glittery ones. If I'm feeling fancy, I will add a hint of this glitter liquid shadow near my tear duct to open up my eyes and have that ‘aegyo-sal’ look.

Step 9: Eyeliner

I feel like something is missing when I don't put on my liner. So it's safe to say that this is another important step in my makeup routine and I had to include it in this post. There are two really amazing liquid liners that I use: this one, is my most repurchased liquid liner ever; and this one, is another drugstore-beat-high-end type of product. It's giving pigment, precision and longevity. Both of these products are easily one of the best on the market for drugstore liquid liners!

Step 10: Mascara

There are a few mascaras that I like to alternate between but y'all already know the drill — I ABSOLUTELY love this mascara. It's also one of the makeup products I repurchased over and over again. I live and breathe this mascara. It makes my lashes look insanely voluminous, and thick and holds a curl all day long. It doesn't flake, hardly clump together and it is just the best.

Step 11: Highlight

I don't really wear highlighter on top every day but when I do I use this one and it's definitely a cult favourite. It gives just enough glow and sheen to my skin. And another favourite of mine is of course Mary Lou Manizer if I want to be a walking disco ball. It's an old one but I'm still obsessed! My favourite spots to pop on my highlighter are the bridge and the tip of my nose, cheekbones, chin and under my eyebrows.

Step 12: Lips

I will absolutely be a Maybelline girl forever. I think Maybelline has one of the best lip products on the market and has a wide variety for us to choose from and more importantly, it doesn't really break the bank. My favourite everyday Maybelline lippie is definitely this, this, this and this. I know it's a lot of lippie but these lippies are always in rotation for an everyday lip because they are all so pretty and flattering shades!

I must say I'm still picking up a lot of my MAC bullet lipsticks every other day and my all-time-fav has got to be this beautiful nude shade and of course the iconic Velvet Teddy. I'm not really a gloss type of gal but I always use the Fenty Gloss Bomb when I usually have nothing on my face. Does this count? And if I'm not feeling any of these lippies, I know I can count on these beautiful lip tints to bring my lips back to life.

Wow, after lots of makeup and beauty chit-chats, this is where it ends guys. I thought it was never gonna end LOL but anyway, I know it's a long one but I hope that sharing my everyday makeup routine today helps you look fab and feel fab! 1. Same for me, no look feels complete without an eyeliner on. Plus, wearing glasses kind of obstruct the view of my eyeshadow work T_T . An eyeliner does just the trick!
