Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial Using Catrice The Essential Nude Palette | Lenne Zulkiflly

Hey there! I've been creating lots of makeup looks recently using only the latest Catrice eyeshadow palette. I looove creating looks although I don't talk much about it here or share it with you guys. I thought I'd give a fair shot to this one and we can kinda see how the shadows roll, how pigmented they are and all that jazz.

Now, when it comes to glam, they usually include some liquid liner and of course, a shimmery situation on the eyes. The look I'll be sharing today got me more compliments than any other look I've done before. I know, it shocked me to the core because I think it's effortless and everybody can do it. Let's get started!

First thing first, I primed my face using the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer. I don't know how I feel about this. My skin feels soft and I notice that the makeup lasts longer too but my pores are still peeking through a little.

For this look, in particular, I reached for 2 foundations. I've been mixing 2 foundations lately. You know I love the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation very much. I might run out soon. I mixed it with the Sephora Perfection Foundation just because I want a little dewy look since the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation has a matte and powdery finish.

My under-eye circles were concealed with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer and I set the face using the Catrice Nude Illusion Loose Powder. That's about that. I don't want to achieve the look of perfect skin too much just because this is the look I wear almost every day. So I want my skin to look like my skin and not the look of 5 layers of foundation, y'know? That's why you still can kinda see my scars and whatnot.

Moving on to the brows. First I filled them in using the Silkygirl Eyebrow Pencil and I added a little of a brow powder from the Maybelline FashionBrow Eyebrow Kit to make it look less harsh. I concealed all the edges of my brows using the Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer so that no stray hairs are peeking through because I hate it.

Here comes the best part! The eyes~ I'm using only Catrice The Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette for the eyeshadow portion. No other palettes included. But before anything, I put some concealer on my lids, blended it out and I put a milky-white shade (third shade from the bottom) on top just to set it.

Then, I went straight to build some dimension using the third color from the above which is like a cool-toned light brown shade. This one goes in my crease using the window wiper motion and I darkened up my outer corner using the same shade but don't blend it too much. Almost done for the eyeshadow part! I know, it's so easy, right?!

The finishing touch for my lids is the beautiful shimmery shade from the palette. I picked up the one with pinkier undertone first and I picked up the lightest shimmery shade on the palette to top it off. I used my finger to dab a tiny bit and then I wet my brush with the MAC Face Mist and going in to intensify the shimmer a little bit more. It sparked like no other! After been using it several times now, the eyeshadows are too powdery, I always have to tap it before putting it on my eyelids but the pigmentation is not half bad though. I'm enjoying it so far.

I added a wing with the IN2IT Hair Brush Liner, then I used a generous coat of the Maybelline The Magnum Mascara on top and bottom lashes. I also put a tiny bit of shimmer on my inner corner to give my eyes a little 'pop'. I know this look is so sparkly but you can never have too much sparkle ;)

As for the cheeks, I added a little color using the IN2IT Waterproof Single Blush so that people don't think I'm dying. Then I finished my cheeks with the Mary-Lou Manizer to highlight my cheekbones. You know I'm hooked.

Finally, the lips! I first put on some of the Tony Moly Tony Tint Delight on the very center of my lips and dab it a little to soften everything. After that, I added Velvet Teddy on top because I love Velvet Teddy so much that it's worth featuring this look.

It was super hard to capture this look on camera, it doesn't show up really nice. But in person though, it's stunning! I wore this look a few times to school and I got compliments from everyone I spoke to. So thank you guys for reading and I really hope you enjoyed it.

What products do you use to get your own everyday glam look?
I know it's been such a darn long time since I last wrote a blog post. I can safely say that assignments are all finally out of the way, as of now. So I've spent a little time running this blog again. My archive is pretty dry as you can see. The best way to start blogging again is to start with a haul. A beauty haul. You agree or nah? So, I've been purchasing quite a few stuff in the past few weeks. And I thought it may be fun to share it here. Here's an overview of the few goodies I purchased:

Collective Haul: Beauty Edition | Lenne Zulkiflly

Mary-Lou Manizer // Mentioned

Let's start with the stuff I'm most excited about. It's the Mary-Lou Manizer. Yes, I finally got my hands on this baby. Like finally! I know I'm late in this bandwagon. I'm so obsessed with it ever since I got it. It's a really pretty champagne highlight and it's just beautiful and blinding. It lasts the whole day, at least on me. It's amazing though it retails for RM99 for a single highlight. I guess it's okay to splurge at times because this is da bomb dot com.

Catrice Cosmetics The Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette // Reviewed

I believe this eyeshadow palette from Catrice is new. I've never seen it before, not until the past two weeks, I guess. I've swatched each and every shades on the palette and it's pretty promising! So creamy, so buttery. I haven't tried it on the eyes just yet but I'll definitely update you guys. This palette costs me RM24 and I think it's okay for 9 pigmented eyeshadows. Good job, Catrice.

Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Cream // Mentioned

Oh, you guys know Silkygirl's Matte Lip Cream is my favorite drugstore lip cream. The formula is great and the color selection is just gorgeous! I got it in the shade 01 Retro, which is a very wearable brown-ish nude. Great for everyday wear. I have repurchased this for so many times already that I lost count. It's so good and it retails for RM21 only.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer //  Reviewed

Here comes my holy-grail concealer. It's the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (RM39). Here's the deal, I'm not looking forward to using any other concealer for my dark circles because this concealer is top-notch! If you haven't tried it, please give it a try and see for yourself. Me likey!

Collective Haul: Beauty Edition | Lenne Zulkiflly

IN2IT Hair Brush Liner // Reviewed

Ugh, another holy-grail beauty product of mine. It's the IN2IT Hair Brush Liner. You guys know the drill. I've talked about this eyeliner quite a few times and I even made a whole blog post talking about this eyeliner itself. The color payoff is amazing, the ease of use and it's great for both newbies and experts. Highly recommend!

M.A.C Mineralize Charged Water Skin Hydrating Mist

This is my first time trying and using this mist by MAC. I use it to set my entire face after I'm done with my makeup. I don't know if it's meant to set the face but so far so good! I notice that my makeup lasts longer and not cakey.

Meow Inspired Perfume by Katy Perry

I'm trying out this fragrance inspired by Katy Perry's Meow. It retails for MYR20. It smells the same and lasts the whole day too. Me likey! I've been using this perfume ever since I got it. I'm just a sucker for fragrances. Am I the only one?

Party Star Cosmetics All Matt Plus Blush

This matte blush that I just got a few days ago is pretty bomb. I love the color, it's matte and yes, it lasts the entire day too. The pink side is meant to be the blush and the brown side is meant to be a bronzer, I guess. If I mix these 2 colors together, it's really pretty. I love that it's pretty cheap too, it retails for only RM10.

Tony Moly Tony Tint

I love me some lip tint. I love to use them whenever I don't feel like wearing makeup but at the same time, I don't want people to think I'm dying. So, this is a lifesaver. I got this Tony Moly Tony Tint in 02 Red. It smells delicious, it tastes delicious (I unconsciously do that) but it doesn't last that long. Even if I don't eat or drink anything, it will come off and gone by the wind.

Collective Haul: Beauty Edition | Lenne Zulkiflly

That's all for today! I hope you enjoyed. Thank you so much for reading and comment down below and let me know if there's anything from this haul that you'd like me to review or do a demo on.

What are some of your favorite purchases lately?
Hello, gorgeousness! I will be reviewing the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation for you guys today. I know I am kinda late in this bandwagon but let me just say that this foundation is now available in my country. YASSS. I can't help it and immediately went and purchased it. Here's the deal, I'm nowhere near finishing my Sephora 10HR Wear Perfection Foundation (currently in my second bottle) but I was in need of a great drugstore option because I just don't see myself continuously repurchasing an RM78 foundation.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation | Lenne Zulkiflly

This foundation retails for RM49.90 and it could be cheaper or pricier depending on which drugstore you buy them at. Anyway, it's available at Watsons, Guardian and online. Without any further ado, let's begin!

MAYBELLINE CLAIMS:

"This lightweight foundation mattifies and refines pores and leaves a natural, seamless finish. Ideal for normal to oily skin, our exclusive matte foundation formula features micro-powders to control shine and blur pores. Pore minimizing foundation. Dermatology tested. Allergy tested. Non-comedogenic (products that are specially formulated to not cause any blocked pores)"

 PACKAGING:

The packaging is, unfortunately, something that I dislike. Why? Because it doesn't have a pump. It contains no pump which makes it inconvenient for application. I have to carefully pour some product out on the back of my hand and apply it with my beauty blender.

SHADE MATCH & COLOR PAYOFF:

I am in the shade 220 Natural Beige, which is my ideal and perfect shade. I was so skeptical between shade 220 and 230 at first. I don't know what shade to get because the lighting there wasn't the best. After swatching for hundred times, I am so glad I picked 220 because 230 actually was too orange for my skin tone. I have a neutral undertone but 220 is perfect for me and I noticed it didn't oxidize that much on me. I thank the Lord for that.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation | Lenne Zulkiflly

FORMULA & COVERAGE:

The formula is matte, creamy and smooth. It's not that runny but not too thick either when I pour a little on the back of my hand, which means it's a slightly lightweight foundation. In my opinion, it has a nice consistency, blends seamlessly and not cakey. It doesn't crease much on me, not patchy whatsoever. I absolutely love it when I wear this foundation, it feels like I am having a good makeup day. That's all I can say.

As far as coverage goes, it has a light to medium coverage. The coverage is buildable and you can definitely layer it up to full coverage but it might get cakey on some people. I usually build it up depending on my mood. I just love the fact that this foundation is customizable to your needs. Y'know what I mean?

LONGEVITY:

I am pleased to say that the staying power is super impressive. I can safely say that this foundation can last up to 12 hours wear and I didn't turn into an absolute greasy mess as I would when I wear the Sephora foundation. Make no mistake, I did get oily with this foundation but nothing major, I would say. I'm an oily gal, it's normal for me to get a little oily around my T-zone. I'm just pleasantly surprised that I'm not much of an oil slick with the Fit Me foundation.

PROS:

Matte finish
Comfortable on the skin for more than 10 hours
Great staying power
Lightweight
Blurs pores
Doesn't oxidizes on me
Buildable
Photographs well
Non-cakey
Doesn't creases that much

CONS:

Inconvenient packaging
My shade is always sold out
Not recommended for people with dry patches

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation | Lenne Zulkiflly

VERDICT:

I think I have found my holy grail foundation! This is all I have been using every day for the past few weeks and I can safely say that I would repurchase this foundation. I wouldn't mind spending 50 ringgit for a foundation because the quality is comparable to high-end ones. Overall, this is a great foundation for people with oily and normal skin types. I absolutely recommend it if you're looking for a long-wearing, buildable and matte foundation that wouldn't break the bank.
