The Sunday Currently #21

The Sunday Currently #21

Hi, hello there, how are you? It’s almost 11 pm here and I’m cozied up on my living room couch, tapping away on my laptop. Weirdly enough, I have been battling a pesky bout of heartburn for the past hour. But nothing a little patience and maybe a glass of warm tea can’t fix, right?

My week has been quite the rollercoaster ride, what’s new. On the productivity front, I have been on fire! I managed to buckle down and churn out two articles for a cosmetic company and a wellness brand. Talk about being in the zone!

But amidst all the hustle and bustle, cue the sound of drilling, hammering, and the occasional “oops” as my partner, let’s call him A, and I dive headfirst into yet another home improvement project. Yep, you heard that right. We’re at it again, folks! Thank goodness A loves DIY-ing as much as I do, so we make quite the dynamic duo when it comes to tackling these projects together. Without him, I’d probably be buried under a pile of unassembled IKEA boxes by now.

But anyway, this is the Sunday currently #21 ♡

currently...

Doing

My best to cope with this heatwave lol. We’re just in the middle of redoing the flooring in one room, which is a pretty big task. And on top of that, I’m really in the process of decluttering my camera roll as much as possible. It’s getting a bit overwhelming for me, especially since I have already moved some of the photos and videos to my hard drive. Yikes!

Listening

Mostly to Tay-tay’s “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” and “The Black Dog,” oh, and “Getaway Car” for some random reason. I know, you’re probably rolling your eyes right now, but Taylor Swift’s been on repeat a little bit too much lately.

Thinking

You know, I’m finding this child-free stage pretty awesome. Having the freedom to do whatever I want without a major commitment feels so peaceful. And you know what? Not feeling the urge for kids at the moment doesn’t make me any less of a woman. It’s just about different goals and desires, and that is totally cool.

Writing

Besides a couple of articles due in the next two weeks, I’m mainly working on drafting blog posts for future posting! I have got a bunch ready to go, and I’m genuinely looking forward to finishing them up.

Hoping

I’m hoping to tackle everything on my mental to-do list. ALSO, hoping for colder weather.

Wanting

Wanting this weird heartburn to go away! It’s so uncomfortable and annoying.

Wearing

A cute white cotton crop top and a flowy maxi skirt I got from Shopee. Turns out, the skirt is a tad shorter than expected for my height, so it’s strictly an at-home ensemble. Oh, and I have Nudestix lip and cheek pencil in Sunkissed Nude on my lips, a sample from my recent Sephora order. And, of course, can’t forget my trusty anti-glare glasses!

Smelling

I’m giving a boss lady vibe today with my Good Girl perfume by Carolina Herrera, ha! Got a spritz of it this morning, and can you believe it’s still going strong at 11 pm? This classic scent never fails to impress me with its staying power.

Loving

A LOT OF THINGS, AS ALWAYS!
  • I’ve been really enjoying using a desktop instead of my laptop lately, though ironically, I’m on my laptop right now lol.
  • The routine my sister and I have nailed down for running our business! I think that is so #GirlBoss of us.
  • The Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum by Biossance that I got as a sample as well.
  • Cheese fries. The cheesier, the better.
  • This post by Lucy! It just speaks to me!

Needing

To finish redoing the flooring by next week so I can dive into ANOTHER exciting project in the house! I’m so committed.

Watching

Nothing, except watching my cat grooming himself. I can’t help but feel like giving his freshly licked fur a little pat because, well, that is just the kind of mom I am!

Feeling

Surprisingly calm even though I’ve got a bunch of deadlines looming. Also, feeling a tad annoyed with this heartburn situation. Guess it’s time for a soothing cup of warm tea.

  1. Good luck with all of your house renos! I’ve been back and forth with being child-free in my early thirties. I really want a family one day and feel constant FOMO when I see my friends with their little ones, but then I remember how content I am with how things are right now. Life as a woman is a wild ride!

  2. Heartburn can be the worst! I don't get it often, but it really bothers me when it happens, so I hope it's much better for you now! Good luck with your home projects and you are so right about it being perfectly okay enjoying not having any children right now. While my husband and I do want a child, we have really prioritized having our own time and just enjoying being together without having any kiddos yet!

Wishing you a fantastic upcoming week and best of luck with your deadlines - you will do great! :)

  3. Hi Lenne. Not sure if this is an appropriate question but are you married? Feel free not to answer my question if you don't feel comfortable sharing. I feel like I missed a big chunk of your life updates.

  8. do you know what randomly works well for heartburn? Eating a banana! My boyfriend gets really bad heartburn, and when we don't have any medicine sometimes we have bananas at the apartment! I hope this helps the next time you have heart burn!
