Five Things in January

January wasn't a bad month. Though I'm quite unsure whether to call it good either. Good things happened, I might add but myeh. Maybe bittersweet is appropriate. I just couldn't describe January in just five moments. I was certainly not ready for January but I tried. Plus, I didn't do much so this could be a disaster Five Things post lol let's go for it.

Here is my Five Things in January

01. I have been slacking.

Admittedly, I have fallen into a slump. It's not that I dislike blogging. Blogging is fun, it's just I haven't blogged the past weeks and I think mostly because of the atmosphere has changed here in blogging world. Or is it just me? You might not understand but it doesn't entice me at all. I do checked my blog every single day, I read emails but rarely reply them and same goes to the comments.

I hope I can get my blogging mojo back. You know what, blogging honestly can be such a hassle and at times overwhelming if you are not in the mood. Or again, is it just me?

02. Such a sweet tooth once again.

So, I got this subject in school where it requires everyone to sell something. It doesn't matter what you are up to as long as you can reach the profit target of MYR50 in just a month. Me and my friends decided to go for brownies! Oh. My. Goodness. I'm not trying to brag or whatsoever but it tastes sososooo good you guys!

Everyone who knows me, knows I don't like chocolate. I'm fine with chocolate flavored drinks but desserts that I'm pretty sure 80 percent of the ingredients is chocolate are no no for me. This, however, makes me want to eat it all day errday! This could potentially be my every day meal. I'm not in my sweet tooth phase for a looong time already but I couldn't resist this one. This is for the win.

03. New pair of contacts!

Finally a new pair of contact lens. I have been wearing the same contacts that I did review here on my blog. You can read it here. If you are thinking of a review about this new contacts, I can work on it but surely not this week, or next week, or the other week. Lol please bear with me. Overall, I'm loving it so far. The enlargement is perfect and slightly natural looking type of contacts. We can talk more about this in a separate post, aye!

04. Hate hitting pan on most of my makeup.

I don't even know why I'm hitting pan on most of my makeup. Well, I should know. I wear them every day, that's why. But why they decided to hit pan almost at the same time? I actually hate hitting pan on my makeup. Who's with me? I can get anxiety out of it, I know it sounds dramatic like our mother but that's the truth gurl. And since I'm on the mission of saving money this year, that means more anxiety to come. Even 10 dollar is already flipping expensive to me lol.

05. Instagram live is so fun!

Don't get me wrong, I didn't even start the whole shebang. However, I came across a lot of people on Instagram who started this Insta live being really fun. I enjoyed it most of the time. Especially those who shared their skincare routine or makeup routine! Ahh so satisfying to watch. I know I'm a weirdo.

So, I came across this steward's Instagram live and watched his skincare routine from the scratch and I was so mesmerized. I have been wondering all this years how come he has such a flawless skin, now I know.

I guess that's all I have to say for now. I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful day ahead.

How was your January? Do you have exciting things going on? Or just a plain boring like mine? Let me know! x

Brow Routine: My Idea Of Perfect Brows

I have come to believe that brows aren't easy to do and much more complicated than most people think. It takes a lot of practice and patience to master the 'perfect brows'. Actually, it only takes a few simple steps. I always getting asked about my brows, how I do them and getting compliments etc. I don't have so much brow hairs to be honest and I feel so insecure whenever I go out and not getting them done. I used to hate my brows but when I started to play with makeup, I know makeup will be my best friend. And I looked up tons of tutorials of how to get them done and I just practice, practice, practice.

So I thought I would finally give you a step by step of how I get them done and give you guys some tips and tricks maybe. Here it goes!

Step #1: Brush them up
First things first, I will brush them eyebrow hairs in an upward motion with a spoolie brush. I usually do this step to see where they need filling in and from there I will notice where I have to trim and pluck. And this brings to my second step.

Step #2: Pluck them stray hairs
I'm a huge believer that if you don't 'clean' your brows, all those hard works are useless, honey boo. So I will always tweeze my stray hairs to make it appear 'clean'. I'm won't go too cray-cray with the tweezers, they simply giving a clean start. Beauty is pain, gurl. However, it's not that painful. Once you start plucking your brows regularly, you will soon get used to the pain and your eyes won't water as much. My tip is begin by identifying the stray hairs and quickly pull in the direction that they grow. That way, it will be less painful.

Step #3: Shading them brows
The trick when shading the brow is not to start at the front brow. If you do that, you will end up with a harsh, blocky and square brow that looks far from natural. So the tip is to begin at the center of the brow and use a fine eyebrow pencil like the one I'm using, which is the Silkygirl Expert Brow Slim Liner. It's amazing! Okay, next I will fill them in using short strokes. That way I have more control and them brows will appear natural-looking.

Step #4: Powder them up
Maybelline Fashion Brow 3D Brow and Nose Palette is the eyebrow powder that I swear by. Definitely my favorite. I use an angled brush and dip the brush into the powder and very lightly powder them brows to add definition. The brush provided is freaking small and very hard to hold. So I just go with my own brush. It's easier that way. This step must be done with a very light hand because Sharpie brow is a no no.

Step #5: Brush, brush, brush
Brush through with the spoolie brush again to blend the pencil and powder together and to soften any harsh lines. However, if I'm not happy with it, I will continue to the next step.

Step #6: Clean up with concealer
This is actually an option. Sometimes I will just skip this step especially when I'm in a hurry. But if I really into my brows, I will clean the edges using concealer and apply it with a small flat brush. I will go around the brows to clean them and make it 'on fleek!' lol. All the things we do for brows. I figured that this step is actually useful for those who are afraid to pluck their stray hairs! Oh gurl, don't you worry. Concealer will definitely conceal them shady situation up there so you don't have to commit to the pain of plucking your eyebrows.

Step #7: Set them brows
Finally, the last step! I will finish everything with a brow gel. The one I'm using is from Benefit Gimme Brow. It's one of the best brow gel I have ever encounter. The brush is very small and precise and perfect for the brow hairs that I don't really have because I'm lacking in that department. It also lasts the whole day, maybe more. You know what, it's always better if you set your brows because you never know what kind of day you will go through, so brow gel definitely helps you to make your brows stay put and lasts the whole day.

And voila, there you have it. There isn't that much to achieve the beautiful and 'perfect brows' that you see all over Instagram. As you can see, I'm using very basic products that probably everyone is using and can be find at most drugstore. Anyway, that's it for today! I really hope that you enjoyed this post and that maybe it also helped you.

What are your tips for getting the 'perfect brows'? What are the products in your eyebrow routine you swear by? Let me know! xx

IN2IT Sheer Shimmer Blush in Pink Pearl

I had been hoping to find what could be a possible drugstore alternative to my MAC's Mineralize Blush in the shade "Dainty" which I already hit pan on. Since I am on the mission to save money this year, I know a lot of drugstore blushes out there won't disappoint me. So I stumbled upon Watsons (Malaysian drugstore) a few weeks ago and swatched a heck lot of blushes on my hand. I came across IN2IT blushers, I instantly fell in love with this one in particular.

The color is not as similar as my MAC blush - it is more to the pink side and more shimmery. I was torn in two. I mean, I like the color but I am afraid it is a little too shimmery for my liking. After tut-tutting at the aisle for a little while, I decided to get my hands on this baby. I mean, it is cheaper and can be double as a highlighter, right?

It comes in a clear compact and I love that I am able to see the product itself without having to open it. I love packaging like this because it is practical. On the other hand, it is a sturdy container, sleek and simple looking. No complaint for the packaging.

Price and availability

I bought mine at Watsons for RM16.90. I would say it is a reasonable price indeed for something just about perfect in a quality. IN2IT is available at most health and beauty departments in leading drugstore company such as Watsons and Guardian.

The texture of this blush is super soft and has a great quality powder. It is very fine and applies sheerly on the cheeks which giving me the choice to build up the color. I think it is a baked powder blush although it does not state whether it is baked or not, but you can already tell by the appearance.

At first, this is what concerns me the most because I have an oily skin. Meaning to say that I have to apply the product carefully on the cheeks otherwise I will look like a walking disco ball. That's not really a concern. Turns out it is actually not that bad. I get a sheen that is not too shimmery, it is more like a pearlescent, so I do not have things sparkling like chunks of glitters on my face. That is a good news. I get a nice, subtle icy-pink glow. It looks gorgeous when it catches light. It is like a blush and highlighter in one.

It gives a healthy glow
High quality powder
Has a clear, sturdy and an attractive packaging
Stays for more than 5 hours on my oily skin
Buildable and easy to blend
Can be double as a highlighter
Soft and creamy texture

The container is a scratch prone
It contains paraben

All in all, I am loving this blush. It is a hit for me and I am totally into it. I really recommend you to try this product because it is a pretty decent brand and the quality is top notch. However, if you are a fan of matte, pigmented blush, then you might not enjoy this. This blush acts more like a colored highlighter to me. It gives a nice wash of color along with it without being too overwhelming yet gives a healthy glow that could be achieved in a highlighter.

Have you tried this blusher?

My 2016 in Alphabetical Order

Happy new year everyone! I hope everyone around the globe had a blast and let's hope 2017 is a good one. I'm feeling very relax and I just want to chill. I wasn't planning on write or post anything today actually but whatever. So let's!

my 2016 in alphabetical order

A | Ampoule. It's something that has to do with skin care and I discovered it in 2016. To be honest, I don't think it did something to my skin so far but in the long run? I don't know. #PrayForMySkin

B | Breathe. Doesn't matter if I'm mad or sad or anxious, breathe is the best technique for me to like get my shit together yknow. No matter what it is, I just inhale and exhale slowly and I'm all good.

C | Corn in a cup. It's like the best thing to munch on and perfect for sweater weather.

D | "Dang gurl". Is probably my most used words throughout the year.

E | Eyebrows. I may not have the best tools for my eyebrow game but I still manage to get it on fleek all bloody time. But really though, you don't have to have much to make something happen :)

F | Face masks. If you don't already know, I'm a biggest fan of face mask. I love to tweet my thoughts on certain masks, but not all the time. Just go to Guardian, Watsons, Sasa or any drugstore and you will bound to "face mask heaven" 😄

G | Google. Google is like my best friend now. I personally too lazy to Google but year 2016 has required me a lot of Google-ing so yeah.

H | Hash browns. I started to love hash browns again after not eating it for couple of years. And still after so long, McDonald's hash browns are still the best hash browns invented.

I | Ignore. I chose to ignore negative vibes be it on my blog here or in real life. It's not worth the time so might as well ignore it.

J | Jealousy. I'm a jealous person by nature. I used to have this negative initial reaction towards people's achievement or success. But in year 2016, I learned how to be grateful and not beating myself for not being as successful. And I learned it from the best.

K | Kylie Jenner. This may seem ridiculous or funny but I want to be Kylie Jenner so bad. She's so successful and she's living everything that I have to live without. Be grateful, lenne.

L | Lectures. I'm sick of it but I want to be educated so.

M | Maybelline. Probably one of my favorite drugstore brand and I discovered a lot of their products last year even though I'm broke. I didn't have the chance to share it here because my schedule is packed and I have quite a number of drafts that I need to work on and edit so please bear with me.

N | Nailed it. My presentations. I hate my school for having a heck lot of presentation every week but glad I nailed every single one of it.

O | Opportunity. I'm so blessed and thankful for 2016 as it opened up a lot of opportunities for me to grab. I feel different but in a good way.

P | Planning. Planning is the key. Not only for your life but for the blog. Lol. I mean I started using schedule post around the year of 2016. It makes your blog lit if you know how to plan and to know which post you need to get up first etc etc.

Q | Quizzes. I'm sick of it. Know what's worse? Online quizzes. Ugh it makes me nervous profusely.

R | Rain. I wish it rains more but wishing on that means I'm messing with people's photography game lol. I love rain. Who's with me?

S | Sales. Since I'm always broke, the word SALES doesn't intrigue me as per usual. I don't know if it's because I'm always broke or this is a huge wake up call telling me to save money. I don't know, maybe none of that two. Whatever.

T | Talk. Yes gurl, I learned from the best. No matter what you are facing in your relationship, no matter what the circumstances are, just talk. And don't leave things hanging. Talk. It's 2017. Grow up.

U | Unwrapping packages. I always get excited to open packages that came in the mail. Well, who doesn't? Also, I always want to do a blog post where we "unwrap things together" yknow but it never happened.

V | Vanilla. Need I say more? It's my ultimate favorite scent.

W | Wedding planning. I know what you're thinking. But gurl, I made a lot of planning and making decisions as if I'm going to tie the knot in 3 months time. I know gurl. I sometimes think that I'm too young for all of this but I think it's okay to at least have a plan because, again, planning is the key. Lol. But timing can be a bitch.

X | Xmas! Where I got seven days break from school (thank god!) and 70% of it I spent watching xmas movies and more oldies but goldies movies. Xmas is probably one of the most beautiful time of the year in my opinion because it gets colder and chilly outside. I just love it.

Y | Young at heart. I'm still behaving as if I'm younger than I really am. Trust me, I'm really playful (I'm turning 21 fgs!) but it's not childlike okay. Childlike is just plain annoying.

Z | Zzz. Obviously I can't think of any words lol. But seriously, sleep in is what I look forward to E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y. I know it sounds bad but whatever.

That's that. I hope you enjoy and make a version of yours! Have a good one and till then x.
