Korean Drama Recommendations | Must-Watch!

Must Watch K-drama

There was a time when I used to say K-dramas weren't my thing. Like I couldn't understand the hype. I'd see people staying up until 3 a.m. binge-watching dramas and thinking about fictional characters all day, and I'd be like, "Could never be me."

Well... look at me now.

Somewhere along the way, I got completely sucked into the world of K-dramas. What started as "just one episode" quickly turned into me staying up way too late because I needed to know what happened next. If you're a K-drama fan, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

So today, I thought I'd share some of my all-time favourites. These are the dramas that kept me glued to the screen, made me laugh, cry, and occasionally question why I was so emotionally invested in fictional people.

1. I Hear Your Voice

If I had to recommend just one drama from this list, it would probably be I Hear Your Voice.

This drama had me hooked from the very first episode. The story follows a public defender and a young man who can read people's thoughts. It sounds a little unusual at first, but trust me, it just works.

I loved the courtroom scenes, the suspense, and the way every episode kept me wanting more. Lee Bo Young was amazing as the bold and outspoken public defender, while Lee Jong Suk completely stole my heart in this role.

It's emotional, exciting, and honestly one of the best K-dramas I've ever watched.

2. The Master’s Sun

This drama has a permanent place in my heart.

The story follows a woman who can see ghosts and a cold, distant CEO who somehow becomes her safe space whenever the supernatural starts getting a little too close.

It has romance, comedy, mystery, and just the right amount of spooky moments without being too scary. So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin had incredible chemistry together, and they were genuinely adorable to watch.

I've rewatched this drama more times than I'd like to admit, and it still makes me smile every single time.

3. Rooftop Prince

Rooftop Prince was actually one of my very first K-dramas, and what an introduction it was.

A crown prince from the Joseon era suddenly finds himself transported to modern-day Seoul while trying to solve a mystery. The result? Pure chaos in the best way possible.

The drama is funny, emotional, and full of twists that keep things interesting. It also has one of those stories that stays with you long after you've finished watching.

Moving on from this drama was genuinely difficult for me.

4. The Inheritors

I feel like every K-drama fan has watched The Inheritors at least once.

Sure, there are a few plot moments that make you raise an eyebrow, but somehow it still works. It's one of those dramas that's incredibly easy to binge-watch.

You've got romance, friendship, family drama, rich kids with complicated lives, and of course, a cast that was basically stacked with K-drama royalty.

And let's be honest — Kim Woo Bin was one of the highlights.

5. Lie To Me

My sister was actually the reason I started watching this one.

The first couple of episodes felt a little slow, but by episode three, I was completely invested. The story revolves around a misunderstanding that spirals into a fake relationship, and things only get messier from there.

Kang Ji Hwan and Yoon Eun Hye were so charming together, and their chemistry made the drama even more enjoyable.

A slow start, but definitely worth sticking around for.

6. My Love From The Star

This drama was absolutely iconic.

An alien who has been living on Earth for hundreds of years falls in love with a famous actress. Sounds ridiculous? Maybe. Did I love every second of it? Absolutely.

The comedy in this drama is top-tier. I laughed so much while watching it, but it also had plenty of heartfelt moments mixed in.

Jun Ji Hyun was hilarious, Kim Soo Hyun was perfect in his role, and together they created one of the most memorable K-drama couples ever.

Also, who could resist a ridiculously handsome alien professor?

7. My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho

Fantasy dramas aren't usually my first choice, but this one completely changed my mind.

The story follows a college student who accidentally releases a legendary nine-tailed fox. From there, things get funny, chaotic, and surprisingly emotional.

I loved the mystery element throughout the drama, and Shin Min Ah was absolutely adorable as the Gumiho.

It's cute, funny, and impossible not to love.

8. 49 Days

This drama caught me completely off guard.

At first, I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it, but after a few episodes, I was hooked. The story follows a woman who is given a second chance at life under very unusual circumstances.

It's emotional, beautifully written, and filled with unexpected twists. There were moments that genuinely made me tear up.

If you're looking for a drama that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster, this is the one.

Final thoughts

There are probably hundreds of amazing K-dramas out there that I still haven't watched, but these are the ones that have stuck with me over the years. They're the dramas I've rewatched, recommended to friends, and thought about long after the final episode ended.

If you're new to K-dramas, I hope this list gives you a few ideas for your next binge-watch session. And if you're already a K-drama fan, I'd love to know your favourites too.

Drop your recommendations in the comments — I'm always looking for my next drama obsession.

Till then xx
