I don't have much to my name at this point in my life. I know I was supposed to have things somewhat figured out and whatnot yes? Well, some things did. I would say I am at peace with my life right now and that's all you have to know. However, I have definitely learned a few things here and there in my quarter-century life. So, without being too preachy, here are my 25 things to know before turning 25.
- Set realistic goals in unpredictable times.
- You are bigger than what is making you anxious.
- Do not go grocery shopping when you have an empty stomach.
- Stop freakin' comparing yourself to anyone. We all have different paths of life to walk on.
- It is okay to cry over things.
- Love the body you're in. I had to learn it the hard way to start loving the body I am in.
- Any time spent away from the screen is the best time.
- Take the time to understand your thoughts and your feelings. Journal, write it down, spend time alone.
- Do not try to work more when you're feeling extra overwhelmed.
- Prioritize your mental health as much as you can. Make no time for things that you don't genuinely like.
- Do or say at least one nice thing to yourself every single day. You will realize it can make the biggest difference in a day.
- Give out compliments more often. It makes you and the other person feel good.
- Do not check your phone every 3 minutes.
- You don't have to be friends with everybody. Save that energy for a real thing.
- Life is too short for a bad working environment.
- Live your life before social media. Learn to appreciate your real life more because life moves so fast because of social media.
- Never stop celebrating. Even the smallest win counts!
- Getting up early makes you feel powerful and accomplished.
- It's totally fine to change your mind about big things in life because life doesn't have to look the way you imagined it would at 18.
- You should have a gratitude list. It's more powerful than you think it is.
- Bad days don't last. Neither do good days. Everything is temporary.
- Be curious about everything.
- The best investment includes 0 finances at all. It is the one you can make in yourself.
- Being a quarter of a century old is really not that bad.
- There's always so much more to explore and so much more that you don't know yet.
