Some By Mi Truecica Mineral 100 Calming Suncream - Good For Oily Skin?

Some By Mi Truecica Mineral 100 Calming Suncream
I have tried quite a lot of sunscreens on the market just because I want to experience each and every one of them on my skin. Not all of them come close to Korean or Japanese sunscreens. This is a huge statement coming from my mouth. I really love their sunscreens because they changed the way I perceived and used sunscreen daily.

I have reviewed the Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Brightening Sunscreen, also the one from Wardah that I used to love but always, always out of stock. You can go ahead read those if you want to know how I feel about them. I rarely talk about sunscreens but when I do, that's when you know I love it to bits or the other way around.

Some By Mi Truecica Mineral 100 Calming Suncream has SPF 50+ and PA++++. That's a lot of plusses. Anyway, I really like this sunscreen. It's a physical type of sunscreen, but it doesn't feel like one. A lot of physical sunscreens tend to leave a pretty noticeable white cast that's why I am geared towards chemical sunscreens more. This one does leave a really slight, tiny amount of white cast but barely noticeable. It settles on the skin pretty nicely and I am okay with that.

Update November 23rd, 2021: This sunscreen has been unlisted on Some By Mi official store on Shopee. So I can conclude that this sunscreen is no longer available but they have a new one that looks identical to this. I believe they've just changed the formula and ingredients a little bit. And that's about that.

Ingredients list:

Water, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Zinc Oxide, Silica, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Stearic Acid, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Lauroyl Lysine, Disodium EDTA, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Adenosine, Centella Asiatica Extract, Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Madecassoside, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid

It pretty much contains ingredients that you will see quite commonly in moisturizers. So it's very moisturizing (Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol) and soothing (Centella Asiatica Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Madecassoside) to the skin type of sunscreen. It's great for acne-prone skin due to its calming effect. I know some people can find Tea Tree Oil some kind of irritating but I have seen people with super sensitive skin doing just fine with this sunscreen.

Now, the real question - is it the BEST sunscreen for oily skin?

A definite yes. I am not trying to sound like a biased person but I am talking based on my own experience. I have tried it for over a month and so far my skin is loving it. No breakouts, no irritations, no noticeable white cast on my medium tanned skin. It wears a long time too. I noticed it didn't absorb too much on my skin making it look like an oil-slick at the of the day, so I love that. I am initially sold by the alcohol-free tag because my skin is so sensitive to alcohol in sunscreens. I will not second-guess when it comes to alcohol-free sunscreen.

If you're curious, I bought mine from Shopee. It's literally the best online shopping platform. I bought it straight from the Shopee Mall because they have the best deals! Free shipping, coins cashback, they even have special promotions if you buy from their Mall - they have lots of vouchers to be given away! The list can go on and on so I will leave you to wander around on Shopee and try this sunscreen for yourself.
