Things I'm Grateful For | 2017

It's the time of the year where I slightly feel a bit sentimental and make time to reflect on the year gone by. 2017 has absolutely flown by and literally blood, sweat and tears went into getting through 2017. And for the most part, I did it. So I thought, what a better way to end 2017 on a good and positive note than to list the things I'm most grateful for! Am I right or am I right?

It's so easy for us to take things for granted. We don't have a clue about the value of something until it's gone. Even when things don't go our way, we tend to forget that there are so many things to be grateful for regardless of how bad the case may be. So here are 36 things I'm grateful for this year.

Things I'm Grateful For | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

  1. My family. The ones that always got my back. And I miss them badly.
  2. My part time job. It's my first working experience. I hate it at first but I can't lie how much I love it now and how it has made my life so much easier.
  3. Cats. I can't imagine the world without cats. They are so comforting and they feel like home to me.
  4. Friends. The ones I have now and those I once had. Thank you.
  5. The weather. Though I complain so much about it being too sunny or the other way around, I still love it regardless.
  6. Sunrise & sunsets. So majestic.
  7. Grab & Uber. Thank you for always be there for me when I don't have a ride.
  8. French fries. Greatest invention.
  9. My phone. I have had it since forever. It annoys me, it irritates me but my favorite persons live in it <3
  10. Notebooks.
  11. Water. As much as I love my milk tea, I still can't go a day without you.
  12. Long drives. Especially at night when there's barely anyone on the street and it's super calming!
  13. Sleep in. One thing that I look forward to, every single day.
  14. Plants.
  15. Vanilla scent.
  16. Good health. The ability to just keep moving forward everyday. Alhamdulillah.
  17. My education.
  18. The internet. What is distance, anyway?
  19. Movies & karaokes.
  20. Music.
  21. My five senses.
  22. Mirrors. I can't go a day without looking myself in the mirror.
  23. Weekends. It's often unproductive but I just love it.
  24. Rainy days.
  25. Makeup. How can I not include this?
  26. Flat shoes.
  27. Green tea. The ones in a giant cup with lots of ice and condensed milk. Yum!
  28. Fresh air.
  29. Sheet masks. Thanks for making my nights extra fancy.
  30. Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart. To. Die. For!
  31. Instagram.
  32. Long walks. Had to sneak in some cardio.
  33. Strangers. They tell me stories of their past and their family or even how pretty my makeup looks.
  34. Spicy ramen.
  35. Home. It doesn't have to be a house. Whatever, wherever or whoever home is, I am happy to have one.
  36. The blog. And the lovely people I have known through blogging.
The list could go on and on but I will stop here. I'm pretty sure there's more to be thankful for and I'm going to spend the last few days of 2017 showing gratitude and spreading happy vibes. Here's to a tough but exciting new chapters! Thank you so much for reading ❤

What are you grateful for?

Drugstore Skincare Haul

Hello beautiful people! I'm going to show you the things that I bought about few weeks ago that is skincare related and inexpensive. You know how deep my love for drugstore items. I'm always on a budget, you guys know that. So if you're on a budget too, I hope this post helps you any other way. So yeah, hope you will enjoy today's haul and let's get into it!

Drugstore Skincare Haul | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

1. My Fav Recipe by Nuela Aloe Vera Gel

If you're a long time reader of my blog, you know this is one of my holy grail product. This is the only aloe vera gel that my skin loves so much. Just a little FYI, I have stopped using this for a solid 3 months for no reason at all. I just got busy and neglected this baby. And that's when my skin just acting up and not behaving. So as you can see, I'm very dependant on my aloe gel, this aloe gel specifically. If you have an oily skin type, this could potentially be your moisturizer. It's very inexpensive and this giant tube lasts about 6-7 months (maybe more!)

2. Aiken Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleanser

This is my first time trying this facial cleanser. I hope it works! I have read quite a lot of good reviews about it. Purchased it because it has tea tree oil in it and you guys must be aware of the amazing power of tea tree oil. However, I don't have acne prone skin but it surely is oily and I do get pimples and breakouts some other time every couple of weeks I would say, so I'm always in the hunt for a good oil controlling products. I have put it to the test for few weeks already since I bought it and I can safely say that I love it!

It's very gentle on the skin and it has a strong tea tree smell to it. I love it but some people don't. The texture is thick and creamy and it foams up really easily. A little goes a long way with this product. I squeeze like a pea size every time I wash my face. So far, I'm satisfied enough. I didn't experience any breakouts or irritation on my skin. I really wanted this to work because I'm done searching for skincare items. Hopefully this will be my last search.

3. Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Wipes

This is also my first time trying this makeup remover wipes. All I can say is I'm loving this makeup wipes! I love the convenience of it and it doesn't irritate my skin too. It's formulated without alcohol that can upset your skin, so that's good. The wipes are not heavily saturated, they feel as if almost dry but they aren't. They manage to do a great job removing the makeup. I think it's reasonably priced for 25 wipes. What say you?

I love it and I will purchase it again because it's so convenient! I sometimes come home late from work (usually 11 at night), I don't have enough time because once I got back, I need to get ready for school the next morning. So, that's when the makeup wipes comes in handy! I just pull one out from the pack, remove my makeup and I'm done. What a time-saver! Highly recommend if you're a busy bee or just lazy.

4. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I have talked about this product in my skincare routine post HERE, I'm still using it and will continue to use it because it makes such a darn good job removing my makeup. Like hundred percent, spotless. I'm really impressed with it, it doesn't break me out or irritate my skin. Overall just a great product. This has been a staple in my skincare routine and always been a constant for me. Totally a must have!

5. Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Lotion

I don't have any idea how much I have repurchased this baby. It has been my trusted and go-to lotion for a quite some time now. So, I have an oily skin on the face, right? But it's a different story for the rest of my body parts. I have a quite dry skin especially on my hands, arms, legs and thighs. This lotion is just a lifesaver for me. It's great for the hydration and moisture that my body needs. I love that the lotion is not sticky and greasy whatsoever. It leaves the skin feeling smooth and supple. And most noteworthy, it heals my dry patches that I have had (not by choice) for so long!

If you love the smell of aloe vera, this has a mild aloe vera smell to it that fades away after 10-15 minutes of application but retain its moisture all day long. I love it, this lotion is an ultimate bae for me. Highly recommend if you have severe dry skin, plus, it won't burn a hole in your pocket ;)

Have you tried any of these products? What is your favorite drugstore skincare product?

I Turned 21 Yesterday

Let me start off everything by saying I celebrated my birthday by sleeping and giving myself the break that I needed and deserved. That sounded so sad haha! But for real though. I then had the best meal in the whole wide world that I forgot to take pictures for the blog. And then tried bunch of new, cool makeup at Sephora too. I was having a good time. That's pretty much it.

Okay, I kind off have mixed feelings about being 21. Just growing older in general. There's just this sad feeling that I'm growing older and in my mind saying, "there's no way to stop that". And don't get me started on some pressure about the amount of responsibilities and commitment I'm going to have. I'm certainly not ready for that phase in life.

I have always been scared of the future. I'm so anxious about it. Like you don't know what would happen. Will it turns out great or the other way around? You have no idea. But that doesn't mean I don't strive to make my future look great. Trust me, I'm trying and it takes shit loads of effort and hard work.

Turned 21 Today! | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Well, now that I have all of this in my mind, in order to 'neutralize' it, I need to feel some contentedness. I do feel content. I'm alive, I'm happy with my life, even though I could live a happier one but that's a different story. I have all of my favorite persons with me and a Dean's lister for 4 semesters straight? I'm not complaining. I have my beautiful baby blog which I'm proud of even though I'm really struggling to be as active as I can be. There's so much to list and I'm just going to say I'm happy and thankful.

I have come to realize that these feelings have given me a picture of what exactly I wish to do and want to be. I have some resolutions ready for the coming year that I would like to actually accomplish. Wish me luck!

Okay, it's clear that this is just a quick little update from me who's growing old and not really liking it. I have to put up something or else people might think I'm dead. Haha! But what really matter is I'm breathing and blessed, right? I'm grateful enough.

What are your thoughts on growing older?

A Little Life Update

I thought the blog was well overdue a life update/ catch up post. I said I was back and then decided to disappear again. I'm really sorry but sometimes I think I should just pass the need to apologize as blogging is not my main job or something. But hey! I miss writing. A lot. Regardless, I might give you guys an update on my life.

Goodbye semester 4. You'll not be missed

I survived another semester in school, guys! I think I shoul give myself a pat at the back. I have been through a lot. A lot. It was tough. I lost a bunch of weight, I lost a lot of money too and I lost quite a few people that were once ny everything and my go-to. But hey, it's not worth to talk about. Let's move on. I did good, or so I thought. Hopefully, everything will be just fine and bismillah for the final year of school! I'm all ready.

I have a part-time job!

Yes gurrrl! Alhamdulillah, I wasn't expecting anything because I hate the thought of expecting, expectations etc. It gives me anxiety. But turns out, I have a job. Since I have oodles of free time now, I say why not?

Focusing more on skincare

My skin is acting up, again. I give up. I give up on makeup, I give up putting bunch of makeup on my face! Now, skincare is #1. Well, it's been #1 but I guess now it's beyond #1. Maybe you guys can suggest me great products to combat the oil, acne and scars on my face?

My favorite month is here!

Okay, who else love that particular month just because they were born in that month? I know I do. It's my favorite month because I was born in November 23rd. I get excited just because I'm so used to that feeling. Come to think of it, the older you get, tge less excited you feel for your birthday. Or is it just me? Maybe it's just me. Lol. The thought of getting older, more commitment, more challenges and obstacles. Aahh, it gives me chills! I'll be alright, right?

Minimalize things and saving up

You know what, it's okay to say "no" every once in a while to every "hey, let's buy new makeup today!" or "let's go hang out to that hipster cafe we went the other day!" or "let's buy new clothes, there's a sale at bla bla bla."

For almost three years staying at a place that I certainly don't call 'my home', I have learned so many things. I don't know how to put this into words. I just hope you get what I mean. I'm trying to minimalize everything, from what I wear to what I use on a daily basis. I just use what I have and trying not to buy anything unless it's necessary. I have come to believe that minimalize things could lead to a huge saving. I could be wrong but I can see the teeny-tiny result already. So, learn to say "no".
I hope everyone is enjoying their lives! <3

Beauty Product Empties

Beauty Product Empties | LENNE ZULKIFLLY

Hello everyone! And welcome to my first beauty product empties post. But before I start, I once again owe my blog an apology. I don't know, I just got really busy again and neglected my blog again. That made me feel super uncomfortable so that's why I decided to post at least a content this month. It's already the end of the month by the way, but whatevs.

Enough with that. As you guys may know or not know, I rarely use beauty products on a daily basis. Yup. I don't really use makeup every day. I love to let my skin breathe and just roll my day without anything on my face. So when I do reach the end of a bottle or tube of something, it's a very momentous occasion for me. Normally, I would just throw them in the bin, but I have been just hoarding them these last few months so I could do empties post for you guys. Okay, what a long disclaimer. Let's!

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation

You know what, I never thought I would ran out of this foundation. I honestly don't know why I thought that way but I did. Obviously it's going run out because it is my only foundation. I love it to death. It's my holy grail. I have never fallen in love with a foundation this much. I know I just got really deep there...

But seriously, this foundation never do me wrong. It suits my oily skin, it does not clog up my pores, it stays all day except for my nose area. It's my super problematic area and I would always get oily with every other foundations too. So that's that. I made a review about this foundation a while back. You can check it out!

Price: Normally MYR49.90, but I got this on sale for MYR39.90.
Would I repurchase?: I already did. I can't live without it. Highly recommend!

My Fav Recipe By Neula Aloe Vera Gel

This is another holy grail product. I use this as my moisturizer and it works well with my oily skin. It's soooo good! I marinate myself in it every single night and wake up in the morning with a glow on my face. And my face feels smooth too! I also made a post dedicated to this baby right here

Price: MYR32
Would I repurchase?: Yes. Very soon.

Maybelline Magnum Volume Express Waterproof Mascara

This mascara is love. I just love it for making my eyelashes look a lot longer and feathery. The wand is also love. I freaking love mascara wand that has a little curve to it. I know it's going to do me good. There's nothing bad to say about this mascara. It's affordable, waterproof, holds the curl. Maybe it's a hassle to take off but if the mascara holds the curl and make my eyelashes appear gorgeous, that's pure love right there. Highly recommend if you have short and sad eyelashes like mi self.

Price: MYR30
Would I repurchase?: I already have.

Catrice Nude Illusion Loose Powder

With my oily skin, I really need a good mattifying powder. This powder however, did a great job keeping my skin matte. I remember it lasted quite a long time on face too (up to 6-7 hours). It's a great product overall. And for MYR23 gurl, what's not to like? I also made a review on this loose powder. Check it if you haven't! :)

Price: MYR23
Would I repurchase?: Probably. But I would like to try the Prime and Fine one. I will let you guys know okay.

Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream

Another all time favorite beauty product! It's my go-to lip product. This has been a staple in my makeup bag for quite a while now. I also love to carry it with me wherever I go. It's a good product and I really like it. I wear it almost everyday but I kind of love to switch it with my MAC matte lipsticks as well. Why?

The MAC ones, they're matte but like comfortable and moisturizing type of matte. Y'know what I mean? The Silky Girl ones, however, very matte. Almost like a powdery matte. It's like a desert on my lips sometimes, that's why I like to switch it up with my MAC ones. Back to the initial topic, the Silky Girl lip creams are worth buying. I really like it. My favorite shades are 04 Vintage and 01 Retro. Have you guys tried it? What's your favorite shade?

Price: MYR21. If you're lucky, you can get it around MYR18-MYR19.
Would I repurchase?: The damage is done. I already repurchased it.

There you have it! There's actually more of them, but like I said, I normally just toss them in the bin. These products are the only ones that I can save and talk about them with you guys. I hope they're alright. Hopefully you guys enjoyed and have a good one!

The Truths About Blogging

None of us like to hear the realities of blogging. I didn't want to either. It took me a quite some time to understand the journey of blogging. I am just a student anyway, I am an amateur, and these are what I have encountered along the way that made me go "Hmm, so this is the truth of blogging, huh?" These are just my opinions and please take it with a grain of salt.

The Truths About Blogging | Lenne Zulkiflly

Blogging takes up a lot of time

I am a student and a lot of my time should just be focused to school stuff, no? But you guys, I didn't realize how into it I would be in terms of blogging. Only with blogging I have noticed that just how passionate I am about it. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so engrossed in blogging so much but I do love it so much. I know I am confusing, I know. I just didn't realize how much time and effort people put in order to sort things out.

You have to take blog photos, you have to have nice flatlays, keep active on social media platforms to engage with other bloggers and promote your content. Not to mention that you need to think what type of content you want to write next on the blog. It. Requires. So. Much. Time. And. Effort. I love blogging but I do find that it can be a little overwhelming sometimes considering the amount of effort needed to run the blog.

Being active is a must

Cannot believe I said that but you will get me. You will get me. You know, some days, you don't feel like blogging. Some days, you just want to chill and do absolutely nothing. Some days, you just feel the need to take some time off from the blog. Same goes to me. But gurl, who doesn't love a consistent blog? Who doesn't like a stable content? People adore stability. And I, myself, is totally lacking in that department.

This is the truth, you guys. I was seeing that number of views and traffic keep on decreasing, decreasing and decreasing. It was upsetting but I just don't see myself putting up a content every 2-3 days every time. I just don't. *sigh*

Everything has to be beautiful

I am not a photography student, I didn't take any photography classes or workshops. No. I am an amateur. I happen to see tons of beautiful photography on the blogging world. Everyone has at least one beautiful, fancy camera to take all their photos that turned out nice every time. Not to mention about the props. In order to be beautiful, it requires a lot of money, honey. Don't you think? I am over here sitting and wishing I have those stuff to up my photography game.

You actually don't need a fancy camera to take photos

Yes, you read that right. Don't get me wrong, if you have one of those fancy cameras in hand, just use it. You do you, boo. This is just my opinion that I wish I knew earlier before I started blogging. If you were like yours truly, just don't feel obligated to have a fancy camera in order to take photos. You can use whatever that you have in hand! And in my case, it's my smartphone. I am using a very 'cikai' phone, that's what Malays said. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 right now that its battery is just driving me nuts but has done me so much great works.

Okay, the key is to use natural lighting and a nice backdrop or background or whatever you want to call it. Then, you have to have bomb ass photo editing apps. That's all! I use 2 apps, VSCO and Snapseed to edit my photos if anybody was wondering. I made a post dedicated to this a while back HERE

I swear by these 2 apps and I admit my photos are still aren't that amazing compared to other's but I have to use what I got, gurl. If you don't have fancy camera, that's okay. You're not the only one, you're not alone. All you need is your smartphone. It can do so much. Trust me.

What do you think will add to the list of truths about blogging?

Hello, I'm Back!

I have been missing and I have been pretty quiet on the blog for quite some time. I must say that I'm missing my blog so much. Hello readers, I've missed you, if you are still out there? It's hard for me to believe so many months have passed - my last post here was in July - but here I am again with so much to tell you. There's just so much that I have to juggle so I have to sacrifice my blog for that. However, I will give you guys a little update with what's been happening in my life recently, it's not that exciting but let's go:

My sister and I went for a day out together. Like, finally, after 6-7 months. Realizing how precious family is and she's the one that I have as of now, therefore appreciating each other's company. Last Friday we decided to spend our entire day at Sunway Pyramid. Just like how I have always wanted, we watched a Mandarin horror movie (it was terrifying) and we ate a bunch of good food! We ate so much to the point that it's disgusting lol. She fed me with so much food I have never tried before and I just feel so loved.

The next day, we went for a late lunch at Aeon Shah Alam and I had mee curry while she had tomyam. It wasn't bad, it was.. alright. Then we made our way to SACC Mall and we had a freaking 2 hours of karaoke session. It was lit and I wish everyday could be like that.

I purchased this aloe plant in exchange of my favorite aloe gel that I have used up and haven't repurchased yet. I heard and read a ton of good things about this baby so I went and purchase it.

I am just battling with these tiny pimples or bumps around my jaw line for a good 2 months now and let me tell you, this aloe plant is freaking awesome. I have been wearing it non stop for a couple of weeks and it's totally magic. Just scoop out the gel inside of the plant and apply it to the face. It's that simple! These tiny annoying pimples or bumps are definitely lessen and I am so so happy.

I am almost done with my semester 4, you guys! I am so excited and scared all at the same time. I will be done in November, which is in another 2 months time! I just cannot wait to enjoy my 3 weeks of semester break, have a lot of 'me time', energy to pick back up where I left off and just catching up bunch of posts, hopefully.

About my diet, can we just not talk about it lol. I was expected to eat only sweet potatoes and drink milk but I just don't see myself eating only sweet potatoes and drink milk. I was so excited at the beginning, but I am just a student, of course I need more than that. I need my carbs, protein etc. However, I have been doing a lot of workout and cardio and I am trying not to be a lazy ass because let's face it, I am a loser when it comes to dieting. So, I have to have a little 'some some' in order to achieve a nice body and it's by exercising regularly 💪

I happen to have an online shop on Instagram - @lennebeautyhouse and Facebook - @LenneBeautyHouse. I am selling makeup items from Colourpop Cosmetics and don't worry, I only sell authentic makeup products as I don't condone buying or selling fake products as they're bad for the skin. Basically, you can get anything you saw from Colourpop's official website, at my shop. I hope you can take a look at my shop, follow and like my Facebook page. Hopefully you can tell me what you think as well. Please, help a sister out! 💕
It's good to be back. Thanks for reading, I hope you have a wonderful day and tell me in the comments, what have you guys been up to recently? x

Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial Using Catrice The Essential Nude Palette

Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial Using Catrice The Essential Nude Palette | Lenne Zulkiflly

Hey there! I've been creating lots of makeup looks recently using only the latest Catrice eyeshadow palette. I looove creating looks although I don't talk much about it here or share it with you guys. I thought I'd give a fair shot to this one and we can kinda see how the shadows roll, how pigmented they are and all that jazz. Now, when it comes to glam, they usually include some liquid liner and of course, a shimmery situation on the eyes. The look I'll be sharing today got me more compliments than any other look I've done before. I know, it shocked me to the core because I think it's effortless and everybody can do it. Let's get started!

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation in 220 Natural Beige
Sephora 10HR Wear Perfection Foundation in 33 Medium Walnut
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Medium
Catrice Nude Illusion Loose Powder
MAC Charged Water Skin Hydrating Mist

Maybelline FashionBrow 3D Brow & Nose Palette
Silkygirl Natural Eyebrow Pencil in 02 Dark Brown
Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer in 02 Medium

Catrice The Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette
Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer in 02 Medium
IN2IT Hair Brush Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in All Black
Maybelline The Magnum Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara in Black

IN2IT Waterproof Single Blush in 03 Indulge
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

Tony Moly Tiny Tint Delight in 02 Red
MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial Using Catrice The Essential Nude Palette | Lenne Zulkiflly

First thing first, I primed my face using the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer. I don't know how I feel about this. My skin feels soft and I notice that the makeup lasts longer too but my pores are still peeking through a little. For this look, I reached for 2 foundations. I've been mixing 2 foundations lately. You know I love the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation very much. I might ran out soon. I mixed it with the Sephora Perfection Foundation just because I want a little dewy look since the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation has a matte and powdery finish. My under eye circles were concealed with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer and I set the face using the Catrice Nude Illusion Loose Powder. That's about that. I don't want to achieve the look of a perfect skin too much just because this is the look I wear almost everyday. So I want my skin to look like my skin and not the look of a 5 layers of foundation, yknow? That's why you still can kinda see my scars and whatnot.

Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial Using Catrice The Essential Nude Palette | Lenne Zulkiflly

Moving on to the eyebrows. First I filled them in using the Silkygirl Eyebrow Pencil and I added a little of a brow powder from the Maybelline FashionBrow Eyebrow Kit to make it look less harsh. I concealed all the edges of my brows using the Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer so that no stray hairs are peeking through because I hate it.

Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial Using Catrice The Essential Nude Palette | Lenne Zulkiflly

Here comes the best part! The eyes~ I'm using only Catrice The Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette for the eyeshadow portion. No other palettes included. But before anything, I put some concealer on my lids, blended it out and I put a milky-white shade (third shade from the bottom) on top just to set it.

Then, I went straight to build some dimension using the third color from the above which is like a cool-toned light brown shade. This one goes in my crease using the window wiper motion and I darkened up my outer corner using the same shade but don't blend it too much. Almost done for the eyeshadow part! I know, it's so easy, right?!

Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial Using Catrice The Essential Nude Palette | Lenne Zulkiflly

The finishing touch for my lids is the beautiful shimmery shade from the palette. I picked up the one with pinkier undertone first and I picked up the lightest shimmery shade on the palette to top it off. I used my finger to dab a tiny bit and then I wet my brush with the MAC Face Mist and going in to intensify the shimmer a little bit more. It sparked like no other! After been using it for several times now, the eyeshadows are too powdery, I always have to tap it before putting it on my eyelids but the pigmentation is not half bad though. I'm enjoying it so far.

I added a wing with the IN2IT Hair Brush Liner, then I used a generous coat of the Maybelline The Magnum Mascara on top and bottom lashes. I also put a tiny bit of shimmer on my inner corner to give my eyes a little 'pop'. I know this look is so sparkly but you can never have too much sparkle ;)

As for the cheeks, I added a little color using the IN2IT Waterproof Single Blush so that people don't think I'm dying. Then I finished my cheeks with the Mary-Lou Manizer to highlight my cheekbones. You know I'm hooked.

Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial Using Catrice The Essential Nude Palette | Lenne Zulkiflly

Finally, the lips! I first put on some of the Tony Moly Tony Tint Delight on the very center of my lips and dab it a little to soften everything. After that, I added Velvet Teddy on top because I love Velvet Teddy so much that it's worth featuring this look.

It was super hard to capture this look on camera, it doesn't show up really nice. But in person though, it's stunning! I wore this look few times to school and I got compliments from everyone I spoke to. So thank you guys for reading and I really hope you enjoyed.

What products do you use to get your own everyday glam look?

Collective Haul: Beauty Edition

I know it's been such a darn long time since I last wrote a blog post. I can safely say that assignments are all finally out of the way, as of now. So I've spent a little time running this blog again. My archive is pretty dry as you can see. The best way to start blogging again is to start with a haul. A beauty haul. You agree or nah? So, I've been purchasing quite a few stuffs in the past few weeks. And I thought it may be fun to share it here. Here's an overview of the few goodies I purchased:

Collective Haul: Beauty Edition | Lenne Zulkiflly

Mary-Lou Manizer

Let's start with the stuff I'm most excited for. It's the Mary-Lou Manizer. Yes, I finally got my hands on this baby. Like finally! I know I'm late in this bandwagon. I'm so obsessed with it ever since I got it. It's really pretty champagne-y highlight and it's just beautiful and blinding. It lasts for 8 hours, at least on me. It's amazing though it retails for MYR99 for a single highlight but I guess it's okay to splurge at times because this is da bomb dot com.

Catrice Cosmetics The Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette

I believe this eyeshadow palette from Catrice is new. I've never seen it before, not until the past two weeks, I guess. I've swatched each and every shades on the palette and it's pretty promising! So creamy, so buttery. I haven't tried it on the eyes just yet but I'll definitely update you guys. This palette costs me MYR24 and I think it's okay for a 9 pigmented eyeshadows. Good job, Catrice.

Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Cream

Oh, you guys know Silkygirl's Matte Lip Cream is my favorite drugstore 'liquid lipstick'. The formula is great and the color selection is just gorgeous! I got it in the shade 01 Retro, which is a very wearable brown-ish nude. Great for everyday wear. I have repurchased this for so many times already that I lost count. It's so good and it retails for MYR21 only.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Here comes my holy-grail concealer. It's the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (MYR32). Here's the deal, I'm not looking forward to use any other concealer for my dark circles because this concealer is top notch! If you haven't tried it, please give it a try and see for yourself. Me likey!

Collective Haul: Beauty Edition | Lenne Zulkiflly

IN2IT Hair Brush Liner

Ugh, another holy-grail beauty products of mine. It's the IN2IT Hair Brush Liner. You guys know the drill. I've talked about this eyeliner quite a few times and I even made a whole blog post talking about this eyeliner itself. The color payoff is amazing, the ease of use and it's great for both newbies and experts. Highly recommend!

M.A.C Mineralize Charged Water Skin Hydrating Mist

This is my first time trying and using this mist by MAC. I use it to set my entire face after I'm done with my makeup. I don't know if it's meant to set the face but so far so good! I notice that my makeup lasts longer and not cakey.

Meow Inspired Perfume by Katy Perry

I'm trying out this fragrance inspired by Katy Perry's Meow. It retails for MYR20. It smells the same and lasts the whole day too. Me likey! I've been using this perfume ever since I got it. I'm just a sucker for perfumes. Is there any one of you can relate?

Party Star Cosmetics All Matt Plus Blush

This matte blush that I just got few days ago is pretty bomb. I love the color, it's matte and yes, it lasts the entire day too. The pink side is meant to be the blush and the brown side is meant to be a bronzer, I guess. If I mix these 2 colors together, it's really pretty. I love that it's pretty cheap too, it retails for only MYR10.

Tony Moly Tony Tint

I love me some lip tint. I love to use them whenever I don't feel like wearing makeup but at the same time I don't want people to think I'm dying. So, this is a lifesaver. I got this Tony Moly Tony Tint in 02 Red. It smells delicious, it tastes delicious (I unconsciously do that) but it doesn't lasts that long. Even if I don't eat or drink anything, it will come off and gone by the wind.

Collective Haul: Beauty Edition | Lenne Zulkiflly

That's all for today! I hope you enjoyed. Thank you so much for reading and comment down below and let me know if there's anything from this haul that you'd like me to review or do a demo on.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation

I will be reviewing the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation for you guys today. I know I am kinda late in this bandwagon but let me just say that this foundation is now available in my country. YASSS.

I can't help it and immediately went and purchased it. Here's the deal, I'm nowhere near finishing my Sephora 10HR Wear Perfection Foundation (currently in my second bottle) but I was in need of a great drugstore option because I just don't see myself continuously repurchasing a RM78 foundation.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation | Lenne Zulkiflly

This foundation retails for RM49.90 and it could be cheaper or pricier depending on which drugstore you buy them at. Anyway, it's available at Watsons, Guardian and Aeon Wellness. Without any further ado, let's begin!

This lightweight foundation mattifies and refines pores and leaves a natural, seamless finish. Ideal for normal to oily skin, our exclusive matte foundation formula features micro-powders to control shine and blur pores. Pore minimizing foundation. Dermatology tested. Allergy tested. Non-comedogenic (products that are specially formulated to not cause any blocked pores)

The packaging is unfortunately something that I dislike. It doesn't have a pump. It contains no pump which makes it inconvenient for application. I have to carefully pour some product out on the back of my hand and apply it with my beauty sponge.

I am in the shade 220 Natural Beige, which is my ideal and perfect shade. I was so skeptical between shade 220 and 230 at first. I don't know what shade to get because the lighting there wasn't the best. After swatching for hundred times, I am so glad I picked 220 because 230 was too orange for my skin tone. I have a neutral undertone but 220 is perfect for me and it didn't oxidize on me too. Thank god!

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation | Lenne Zulkiflly

The formula is matte, creamy and smooth. It's not that runny but not too thick either when I pour a little on the back of my hand, which means it's a lightweight foundation. In my opinion, it has a nice consistency, blends seamlessly and not cakey. It doesn't creases on me, not patchy whatsoever. I absolutely love it when I wear this foundation, it feels like I am having a good makeup day. That's all I can say.

As far as coverage goes, it has a light to medium coverage. However, it's buildable and you can definitely layer it up to full coverage without looking cakey, crumble and patchy. I usually build it up depending on my mood. I just love the fact that this foundation is customizable to your needs. Y'know what I mean?

I am pleased to say that the staying power is super impressive! This foundation can last the whole day and I didn't turn into a greasy mess as I would when I wear the Sephora foundation. I would say it stayed put and stayed strong for 8-9 hours. I did find myself a bit oily on my nose area at the end of the day but nothing that a blotting paper can't fix.

Matte finish
Comfortable on the skin for more than 8 hours
Great staying power
Blurs pores
Doesn't oxidizes on me
Easy to blend
Photographs well
Non cakey
Doesn't creases on me
Conceals redness and dark spots very well

Inconvenient packaging
My shade is always sold out

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation | Lenne Zulkiflly

I think I have found my holy-grail foundation! This is all I have been using everyday for the past few weeks and I can safely say that I would repurchase this foundation. I wouldn't mind spending 50 ringgit for a foundation because the quality is comparable to high-end ones. Overall, this is a great foundation for people with oily and normal skin types. I absolutely recommend it if you're looking for a long wearing, matte foundation that wouldn't break the bank.

Have you tried this foundation?

Things I Struggle With As A Blogger

Today, I'll be sharing with you guys struggles I'm facing while trying to navigate around this blogging world. People always seem to think blogging is easy, being a blogger is 'no fuss' at all. In all honesty though it's tougher than what you think. Be it a successful blogger or an amateur blogger. Here's my list of things I struggle as a blogger.

There's so much to talk about this. Blogging requires taking photos, a lot of it. I don't have a professional camera like DSLR or all those good stuff, I take all my photos using my Samsung smartphone and I have to tweak them and edit them using my favorite editing apps. I have to do that in order to make them look decent and presentable.

Things I Struggle With As A Blogger | Lenne Zulkiflly

Out of all these blogging struggles, this is the one I struggle the most. SEO is difficult to learn, I'm still trying to get my head around it and make sure I get all the keywords into my post. I've learnt SEO once using all that I have - the Internet. And let me tell you, it's complicated as heck.

It's not that easy to be consistent with your blog posts especially when combining blogging with school. Although it's good to be consistent because your readers love a stable content in a blog but what can I say? Life gets in the way 24/7. I'm just a student and blogging is not my source of income though (as of now).

I love writing and blogging and all but the technical side of it? It's quite challenging for me. When something goes wrong with my template or theme, I don't know what to do. I have to google lots of things and yup, this part requires lots of googling, at least for me. Not to mention that I've changed my template now and it's full-on coding. I can't really tweak it from Theme > Customize. My coding skill is basically zero to none.

I love blog chats on Twitter and being able to chat with them is just gorgeous but I guess because of the different timezone, I'm struggling to catch up with the chats. I have to stay awake usually until 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning if I want to join the chat but I keep forgetting it! By the time I decided to join in the chat, it's probably ended not a while ago lol.

This one is heartbreaking, I have to admit. Though I've been blogging 'consistently' for a while, sometimes traffic just never picks up on my side. I have to focus a lot on making connections but at times, I forgot or I'm just damn busy. Although this is quite a struggle for me, I'll never stop blogging, I'll write more and more and constantly create contents because I love what I'm currently doing.

Can any bloggers relate? What are the things that you struggle with as a blogger?

My Must-Have Photo Editing Apps

My Must-Have Photo Editing Apps | Lenne Zulkiflly

If you don't already know, I take all of my photos using my one and only smartphone. I don't have DSLR or even a compact camera though I really want to invest in one and I'm lusting after Olympus Pen. Anyway, my photos go through lots of editing and I spend hours and hours to get them to look decent. I'm well aware that my photos are nowhere near as great, as professional as some other bloggers' photos. I'm no photoshop expert, I don't even have photoshop. All of my editing and tweaking gets done on my must-have photo editing apps below!

Gworlll, Snapseed is my most used photo editing app, hands down. Snapseed is bae. It's free, it comes with filters and superb basic editing tools. It also has this interesting brush tool to spot adjust exposure, saturation, temperature and dodge and burn. It's very handy! It's what I usually use to achieve true white background in my photos because we all know sometimes lighting can be a bitch. It's a great app, whoever created the app on Play Store, you're the real MVP. If you guys looking for a basic editing app that has almost everything in it, then Snapseed is for you.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows about VSCO. It's one of the most popular photo editing apps. It's also free, comes with editing tools and lots of pretty filters. I usually use VSCO right after I use Snapseed. I prefer editing with Snapseed first and then for finishing touches I prefer VSCO. Just a little FYI, I usually don't put any filters for my photos because they tend to get a little overboard and I like to avoid adjusting things too much. I want my photos to look as if they're naturally taken by a DSLR or something. In my opinion, VSCO's sharpening and tint tools are pretty decent compare to other editing apps.

Phonto is exactly what I use whenever I want to add text to a photo. I've been using Phonto for many many years now. It's such a handy app and even if you're a newbie, you'll not have much trouble using this app. It's easy to use and you'll get the hang of it pretty much instantly. This app also allows you to download your own desired fonts, it does provide you with tons of fonts but I just prefer to download my own fonts from DaDont! It's da bomb dot com.

What are your must-have photo editing apps?

M.A.C 'Please Me' Matte Lipstick

M.A.C 'Please Me' Matte Lipstick | Lenne Zulkiflly

Hello everyone! Today I'll be reviewing MAC 'Please Me' matte lipstick for you guys. Now, I've had MAC Please Me for quite some time but, silly me, I didn't take any product shot and used it right away upon purchase. The color is just so beautiful that I want to use it right away rather than review it on the blog. Haha! So, if you want to know bits and pieces about the lipstick, then keep on reading.

First thing first, I'm not going to talk much about the packaging and all because we all know the classic 'bullet' packaging of MAC lipsticks, the shade name is stated at the bottom of each lipsticks, yadah yadah.

M.A.C 'Please Me' Matte Lipstick | Lenne Zulkiflly

According to MAC, Please Me is described as 'muted rosy tinted pink', which I certainly agree. This shade is so wearable, 'girly' and ideal for everyday wear if you want a little pop of color without going overboard. All I can say is that the color is so versatile and universal. It's not too light or too dark. I think it's the perfect muted rosy pink, at least for me and my skin color (I have a medium tan skin).

Pigmentation-wise, I'd say it's pigmented and opaque. You will get the true color in just one swipe. It's always a plus, right? There's something I want to draw your attention to. Even though this is a matte formula, it's so comfortable on the lips. You know some matte formula can be too drying and powdery? I don't really like it. Thumbs up for MAC matte formula for not making my lips feel like a desert. Cool isn't it? It's completely matte but feels ever so lightly creamy. However, being a pink shade like this with matte formula, it does settle into my fine lines which I find not so flattering. Haha! If you have 'wrinkly', dry and chapped lips, this kind of shade will accentuate it. Make no mistake, if you always remember to exfoliate, it's not that much of a nightmare.

M.A.C 'Please Me' Matte Lipstick | Lenne Zulkiflly

The lipstick lasts around 5-6 hours on me. Even after a heavy meal, the lipstick did survive. I can still see the color on my lips; it leaves a subtle rosy stain on my lips. That's another reason to love about this lipstick. In my opinion, the wear time is just superb.

I honestly can't find any other bad thing to say about MAC Please Me apart from it emphasizes the fine lines on my lips. Nothing too major, so I'm all good. It's pigmented, it's creamy, comfortable on the lips, great staying power, sturdy packaging and who doesn't love the infamous yummy MAC lipstick scent?? I have to say, it's definitely my go-to lipstick now. You don't have any idea how often I reach for it for the past couple of months compare to Velvet Teddy. Overall, I give it 4 out of 5. It's beautiful and I'm so glad I picked this shade!

M.A.C 'Please Me' Matte Lipstick | Lenne Zulkiflly

Available on and MAC store for MYR78.

What's your go-to lipstick at the moment?

A Few Important Blogging Tips

A Few Important Blogging Tips | Lenne Zulkiflly

I've been blogging for years now but I'm no means a blogging expert and I'm still learning. I still have a lot to go through. Nonetheless, I've picked up a few tips along the way and I want to share it today. Bear in mind, these are just suggestions and there's no right or wrong way to blog. I know, I know, there are a plenty of posts like this out there but I really hope this helps you to get an idea in one way or another.

1. Only blog when you're in the 'mood'

I often feel discouraged when I see bloggers write, blog and put up a content every single day. I don't know how you guys do that. Little did I know, it's okay not to blog everyday because if you force it, it becomes a chore. Blogging is no longer fun that way.

I'd say, blog when you feel like blogging, write when you feel like writing. It's okay to take a break from blogging because this whole shebang can be a little too overwhelming. I've been there, trust me. So, only blog when you feel like it. Anyway, I made a post talking about what I usually do when I don't have the mood to write a new post HERE.

2. Write how you talk

Just write the way how you would talk. It's more personal that way. If you're funny in person and often crack a joke, throw them in the blog. Blogging should be natural, relax and fun. You don't have to write A+ standard or university-level type of English. It's often structured and no fun at all. It sounds weird. So, make it feel more personal and sounded human, not robots or whatsoever.

3. Have a catchy title

Good titles are ones that grab readers' attention. I know bloggers who are always come up with 'clickable' titles - Erin Azmir, Siqah, Eeca Shyaa

Having a catchy title is the secret to having the content being read but don't do 'clickbait', it's annoying. I'd say study blogs that entice you to click on every single of their posts because they have the most catchy titles and great contents.

4. Think of what you would like to read and write it

I'd recommend look through your Blogger dashboard or Bloglovin' feed and see what blogs you read everyday. What do they offer? What are the things that makes you keep coming back because you can't get enough of it? If you love and have the knowledge about vegan, cruelty-free beauty stuff, just start writing. Even if you don't have a big audience or you're a newbie, just know that you're blogging for your own good.

5. Jot down ideas

You don't have to write down your ideas but being the old-fashioned that I am, I find it helps. You can write down in your smartphone, it really doesn't matter how you write down your ideas but I feel like writing down ideas kind of helps stimulate our mind. So, for me, whenever ideas pop into my mind, I jot them down in my blogging notebook.

6. Promote your blog on social media

It's such a waste if you're not promoting your blog on social media. You won't believe the influence it brings. World without borders, so they say. Having an account on each social medias will really help to promote your blog.

I know it can be a little embarrassing and guilty to promote your blog, but it's incredible to connect with people around the world and you don't know how amazing the blogging community is. So I'd say just shake it off and promote. I gain a lot of international readers through Twitter. How cool is that!?

A Few Important Blogging Tips | Lenne Zulkiflly

7. Reply to all comments

This is the point I wish I knew earlier when I started blogging. I used to read comments and never reply back. Even worse, I've disabled my comment section once, it's not good for the blog, enough said.

Just remember, this is so important because it creates a relationship and connection with your readers. Never ever neglect comments (unless hate comments) because if someone has taken her sweet time to write sweet things on the blog, just reply back. There's no harm replying back. I personally love it when bloggers reply to my comment and it makes me want to read their blogs over and over.

8. Proofread, triple check for mistakes/ error and pay attention to details

I know proofreading can be a major annoyance but it's indeed important for readers like me who's always spot on mistakes or errors in a blog post. Even the littlest things. I'm sorry but I was born with it. Haha! I know mistakes happen to us all, be it spelling mistakes or broken links and whatnot, but I feel that it shows one didn't take the time to re-read the post. If you happen to notice a mistake after you have published the post, quickly fix it and don't just "let it be, we're human and human makes mistakes."

9. Have fun!

I'm a firm believer that blogging should be fun, enjoyable and exciting. If you treat blogging as chore, that it's stressful and no fun, then ask yourself why you're doing it in the first place. You can't force it. You can never force it.

And one more thing, blogging is never a competition. All I see is a bunch of amazing people trying to be the best that they can be and constantly want to put up creative and unique contents. That's the spirit!

10. Don't give up and never stop blogging

I know it can be disheartening to see that stats never goes up, the number of visitors are rarely change and the only person viewing your blog is your significant other. But let me tell you something, success very rarely comes immediately. It doesn't happen in the blink of an eye. Rome wasn't built in a day, right?

Don't give up and never stop blogging. To me, the only difference between 'successful' blog and 'unsuccessful' blog is about passion. If you're passionate about it, continue doing it. If you're not, I don't think you should blog and if the reason behind the existence of your blog is because "everyone else is doing it." nope, you're not  passionate.

That's about it you guys! I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope it has helped you any other way.

Tips And Tricks For Short Eyelashes

I was born with a short-ass eyelashes. Not just short, they stick straight, point downwards, thin and sparse too. I cry a little inside when I see people with long and thick eyelashes A.K.A my significant other. You don't deserve those lashes. Haha! I've always hated my eyelashes and I know it's not nice to hate whatsoever given to you by The Almighty. So, in today's post I will be sharing things that I do in order to love my lashes all over again and how to trick people into thinking you are having luscious, long eyelashes. Sisters out there who are having the same struggle as me, you may try these and I hope it helps :)

Tips & Tricks For Short Eyelashes | Lenne Zulkiflly

#1 Serious curl

This sits on top of the list because this is the trick that I swear by. Eyelash curler is like my best friend. I won't go out without curling my lashes. It will curl your lashes upward (obviously) and make them appear longer. You might want to repeat the process several times to make sure all the lashes are curled. Remember, upon reaching at the tip of the lashes, hold the curler a little longer to extend the shape. The longer, the better.

#2 Avoid dense, big and spiky mascara brushes

I always stay away from dense, big and spiky mascara wands. They are definitely not my cup of tea. Know why? It can actually coat the lashes way too much and pull the lashes down. No, we don't want that. Instead, go for curved mascara brush, which brings me to my next point.

#3 Opt for curved mascara wand

Curved mascara brushes are ideal for those with short eyelashes due to their flexibility and they have just the right amount to coat the lashes which won't weigh down your eyelashes. I have various mascara with curved brushes in my collection and Maybelline is definitely the favorite of mine. They are The Falsies and Hyper Curl <3

#4 Go for 'lengthening' mascara

You may also decide to go for mascaras that are being sold as 'lengthening' mascara. The moment I saw the word 'lengthening', I know it's gonna do my eyelashes good and contribute lots of help in the length and volume department. Know what brand really does it? It's from the drugstore. Yup, it's Maybelline. The Lash Sensational is A.MA.ZING!

#5 Waterproof mascara

Waterproof mascara will certainly do the trick because the formulas are drier and able to hold the curl and shape better than regular formulas. Sure, it's a hassle to get off but at least it holds the curl best and the lashes will appear longer all day long. Yay for that!

#6 Use Vaseline

This one is my favorite. What I usually do is after curling the lashes, I will coat them with Vaseline. Just a thin coat using an upward motion and don't neglect the bottom lashes as well. Vaseline is like a waxy substance keeping the lashes appear healthy. Just a little FYI, Vaseline will actually grow the lashes longer than usual after regular application. I'm not joking, I've seen the result with my own eyes! Nope, not leaving my Vaseline no more.

#7 Wiggle mascara application

This is the technique that I swear by while applying mascara. It sure takes up more time but this is the way to keep the lashes separated from each other. Also, it creates a thick base and enhances the lash line which will make the lashes thicker-looking and longer. So, wiggle it is! What's your favorite mascara application?

Tips & Tricks For Short Eyelashes | Lenne Zulkiflly

There you have it, 7 of my favorite tips and tricks for short eyelashes. These are just suggestions and the things I've compiled today should be okay to improve the sad-looking eyelashes of yours (and mine!). I don't fancy fake lashes because I don't really wear them, which is the reason why I didn't mention about it in this post. Natural is always better, in my opinion. I want to improve the look of my short lashes without going too overboard and being carried away. That's all.

Do you have the same struggle? If so, what do you do? What's your favorite trick?

My Blogging Routine

My Blogging Routine | Lenne Zulkiflly

I have developed a routine that I go by every single time I blog. It didn't change, it is what it is since the beginning and I still stick to it at this point. So, in today's post I thought I'd share my blogging routine with you guys. It's really simple, nothing fancy or complicated, but hopefully it may comes in handy to someone out there? Perhaps. Here it goes.

Yes, it all starts with a plan. I always have to plan things before I do them. I would say I'm pretty organized and I like it better when everything is planned. So, before hitting letters on the keyboard and having my thoughts and words written to the blog, I first sit down with my blogging notebook and jot down the things I'm going to write about. Yes, I jot down things and I know it's very old-fashioned but it works for me because I tend to forget major things I want to mention in a post.

After I jot down all the details and points, I will then start to write the post. I like to do the writing first and the photography comes next because I just work that way since the beginning. Writing a post can take forever for me because I will read and re-read the post to make sure no spelling errors or basically just any errors before I hit the 'Publish' button.

I want to be 100% happy with the content and the quality is approved by me. After I'm satisfied with the result, I will save it as a draft then I can work on the photography (if the post requires my own photo). Just a little FYI, a big cup of tea is very much needed during this session because it's always take the longest. You feel me?

I take all of my blog photos using my phone, as you guys probably should have known by now and I edit them using these amazing apps that I downloaded in my phone. Honestly, I kind of having a love/ hate relationship with taking photos just because it's exciting, fun and all but it's tiring! Hands down. You have to have the angles right, no shaky hands and don't get me started with the weather. Anyway, after I'm happy with the photos, I will have it uploaded to join with that particular post and edit the Alt tags and whatnot.

My Blogging Routine | Lenne Zulkiflly

Sharing and promoting

I usually post around 8-10 in the morning, I'm not so sure why but I do. After that have been published for couple of hours, I then promote it. What I usually do is I share my new post on Twitter. Sometimes I do tweet about the post more than once (but I keep forgetting it) and I will not forget to include hashtags along with it because don't underestimate the power of hashtags. Haha!

I also put a small description saying 'My Latest Blog Post' and link to the post on my Twitter bio, so whenever people visits my Twitter, they will know I have a new blog post. It's not going to work 100% but it sure does drive a crazy traffic to my blog. Yes, I gain lots of traffic and engagement from Twitter.

That's pretty much my blogging routine, I know it's very simple. I know it may seems unorganized to some of you guys, but I work that way and it suits me best. And I really admire people that has posts planned and written for months in advance. That's awesome and keep doing you! Aaand salam ramadhan al-mubarak to muslims all around the world! ❤
